My name is Tomas and I live in the heart of Europe - Slovakia. I am a calm guy who likes to chat with goodhearted people although sometimes I like to have my moment of solitude. I work as a reporter in a TV called DIGI Sport which is a national broadcaster mainly of footballing competitions like Premier League or Champions League. I love movies and theater and I absolutely admire the art of acting. Travelling is one of the younger hobbies but it has a lot of potential for a massive expansion :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I decided to join couchsurfing because my traveling desire has been growing over the last couple of years. I like the idea of couchsurfing because it creates a connection between people that allows us to get to know countries in a deeper way, thanks to people who maintain contact with those countries on daily basis. This deepens the overall traveling experience.

Interests

My main hobby is the world of films. Not only watching them but reading about history of filmmaking, productions process, lives of personalities who meant and still mean a lot for the cinema (Marlon Brando, Audrey Hepburn, etc).

I also like sports, that is why I work in a sports TV. Especially football and my favourite teams are FC Barcelona and Manchester United.

Traveling, of course :) The most beautiful part of it for me is when I have absolutely compatible people around me and I can share the harmony that is created in certain moments and places.

Reading - books, articles, anything that seems interesting to me.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music - my favourite genres are jazz and metal, which is a strange combination, I admit :) Louis Armstrong, Frank Sinatra, Metallica, System of a Down, Korn - those are the artists that have been accompanying me for some years. But I am opened to anything that sounds compatible with my ears and that can be almost everything.

Movies - The Godfather trilogy stands on the peak of my list and I believe it will stay there for the rest of my life. I also admire the works of Christopher Nolan. And Star Wars were my first major cinematic lover :) It is hard to create a list of films I like, because the span of my interest in this category of hobbies is quite wide including old classics, art films, etc.

Books - My favourite writers are Franz Kafka, Edgar Allan Poe and norwegian author Erlend Loe.
