About Me

I would say I have a laid back, easy-going personality and I consider myself to be open-minded. I've been travelling on and off for the last two years and the experiences I've had and people I've met during my travels have made it impossible for me to stop and settle down.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Having spent the better part of my travels in hostels I now find myself looking for something new, maybe something a bit more genuine. Although I've had some amazing times in hostels and met some of the best people I know there I feel like it would be interesting to see a place through the eyes of a local and also getting the chance to get to know more local people. Sometimes it feels like the hostel experience is the same everywhere I go and I want to believe that the chance to experience something unique is better here on couchsurfing.

And yeah, I know I don't really have any references to show but it's because I'm new to couchsurfing and I have to start somewhere, right? :)

Interests

My main interest is music, I play guitar, piano and sing. So if you play something too we could have a jam :) I also enjoy running, reading, meeting new people, drinking, camping, hiking, cooking (mostly vegan stuff) and of course backpacking!

Music, Movies, and Books

I like a lot of different music but I guess my favourite would be 60's folk and pop/rock. Stuff like Bob Dylan, the Stones, the Beatles, the Velvet Underground.
I'm also into 70's punk but do also enjoy some raggae and jazz music too.

When it comes to books I mostly read Jack Kerouac at the moment, I find his books very inspirational especially when I'm on the road myself. My favourite one of his I think would be "The Dharma Bums". Whenever I feel down or lonley while traveling I pick up a book of his and his energy and often optimistic views, words of wisdom, humor and stories from the road seem to always manage to pick me up. A true hero of mine.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I said "yes" when the first guy I met on my trip to New Zeeland asked me if I wanted to buy his car. It was a spontaneous, maybe naively stupid decision which ended up costing me a lot of money. The car was in a bad condition and I had to spend a lot of money repairing it. Despite all the hassle I went through with the car I'm so greatful that I said "yes" that day cos it took me to some of the most amazing, beautiful people I've ever met and they wouldn't be in my life today if it wasn't for that decision.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you to play the guitar! And maybe share some of my vegan recepies if that would be of any interest. Could also share my music, enthusiasm and some travel stories with you. Or maybe just some good company and conversation :)

I would be greatful to learn whatever you'd like to share with me. I'm open-minded :) And as travelling seem to be the main thing in my life right now I am always open for advice regarding everything that has to do with it. I would also like to learn more about couchsurfing and hitchhiking which is something that really interests me.
