About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To see the world! To experience diversity and to share my own experiences
ABOUT ME
Life is good and I love it. I love surfing and learning about the fantastically interesting noodle soup in our head that makes us laugh and walk and talk and love. I love the thrill of competition, being alive in a big universe. All these are good things and everything is infinitely interesting, especially the simple things.
It is pretty awesome that I have been given the chance to make a career out of connecting the dots between consciousness studies and people's lived out religious and spiritual lives. I love chatting with people about this topic and hearing different opinions of all sorts. My personal favorite flavor of spirituality is psychedelic Buddhism with neuroscience sprinkled on top.
And my official bio:
Dr. Tomas Frymann is the founder of As We Wake, an organization dedicated to connecting culture to Interbeing through psychedelics. He completed his Ph.D. in the Spirituality and Psychology Lab at Columbia University, is an initiate of the Bwiti tradition, and has facilitated and experienced 100’s of psychedelic ceremonies worldwide with psilocybin, ayahuasca, iboga, and 5-MeO-DMT. In his many years of psychotherapy experience he has worked with veterans, cancer patients, university students, and ICU patients. Dr. Frymann authored the first empirical measurements of Psychedelic Integration and Interbeing Identity, which have been translated into multiple languages and adopted by psychedelic facilitation centers globally. He has presented his work at major forums including the United Nations and Harvard University, and is featured on the following podcasts: Universe Within, 10 Laws Podcast, Psychedelic Medicine Podcast, End of the Road Podcast. Outside of the world of entheogens and academics Dr. Frymann is also a surf instructor, former professional skimboarder, and general ocean aficionado.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Hitchiked across Tasmania, sailed from Australia to New Caledonia, surfed 20 foot waves in freezing water near Apollo Bay, ridden a scooter from UCLA to Las Vegas taking only a dollar and the clothes on my back, double majored in Psychobiology and Marine Biology, spent 5 weeks in Tahiti doing marine research, won the amateur world championships of skimboarding, hosted lots of really cool people on couchsurfer and learned even more that the world is about how you live and who you meet and what you do just reflects that
Teach, Learn, Share
Read three books: Vagabonding by Rolf Potts, A New Earth by Ekhart Tolle, and Incognito by David Eagleman. They are like salt, pepper, and food
