About Me

Hey, I’m Matthew!

I'm personable, supportive and well rounded. I work in online communications and am active in tech and music scenes. As a guest, I'm clean, quiet and respectful of your personal space. A couple of well reviewed Couchsurfing community members have stayed with me before.

I like meeting and connecting inspirational people. At home, I enjoy the company of friends for dinners and gatherings. I sometimes host free co-working spaces called Hoffices. CS members have joined me when I felt like meeting new people with interesting stories. Friends and I have stayed in people's homes in California, Montreal, the Muskokas and NYC (outside CS). Each was a positive experience.

I live in Little Italy and love Toronto's many neighbourhoods, arts, food, tech and music events, and waterfront activities including laser sailing. Toronto has been my home for twenty-five years. I grew up in Montreal and have also lived by a farm in England, in Ottawa as a student, and once worked at the Chateau Lake Louise, Alberta. So far I've travelled across the Americas and Europe. I haven’t travelled far compared to my friends. I might actually be a homebody. But from diving in Roatan, to accidentally hiking in a circle in foggy Wales, to attending weddings in U.S., Bermuda, Peru and Italy, I’ve visited a few places near and far.

As a project consultant I help plan, design, pull and flip switches towards new initiatives online such as website redesigns and social media plans. I like helping design online media as it shapes the way we live, work and play.

I give my guests space but am available when needed. If you ask I will offer tips on places, events and connect you with others.

Let's share a respectful, flexible in mind, supportive and empathetic vibe. Your skin colour, cultural origin, gender, age, income level, orientation, identity, disability, physical appearance, civil status and religion is welcome.

My motto is that the best ideas are not always obvious. Your suggestions are welcome.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I like meeting people! I also miss travelling. Perhaps hosting allows me to live vicariously. I'm also curious about online communities and CS is one of the better ones. I found out about couchsurfing years ago when I was invited to a CS party. I learned a thing or two about hospitality while hosting visitors and while working at the Chateau Lake Louise.
