About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Travel and adventure get my heart racing. I look forward to new experiences, making new friends, and discovering more of what is beautiful and amazing in this life.
ABOUT ME
I am an industrial designer living and working in San Francisco, CA. I recently said goodbye to an eight-year relationship and am enjoying everything life has to offer. In particular I have more time to spend pursuing my many interests. And that's what brought me here, to CouchSurfing. I've made plans to travel to Europe with one of my good friends from college and I am super excited!!!
PHILOSOPHY
Life is precious, and beautiful, and exciting. I want to live with no regrets, and that means pursuing many interests, even if it gets chaotic at times.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I will be surfing my first couches this May. I have also started attending local CS events in the San Francisco Bay Area. I grew up here and would be delighted to answer any questions or show you the cool spots to go.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I'm a newbie, just getting started. I'll update after I get back from my trip, these last two weeks of May.
Interests
Exploring, walking around the city, playing games for fun (but with a hint of competition), drawing comics, surfing, playing guitar, taking photos, drinking with friends, traveling, KARAOKE!!! (I try to go out as much as I can)

Music, Movies, and Books
Movies: Lost in Translation, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Blade Runner, The Princess Bride, Akira, anything by Miyazaki, L'auberge Espagnol, Aliens, The Incredibles, sci-fi, animation (particularly if the style is interesting), and laughing at ridiculous B-movies
Music: Gorillaz, Phoenix, Mr. Children, Bowie, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Strokes, Tokyo Police Club, Pixies, Daft Punk, Anamanguchi, The Black Keys, Muse, Arctic Monkeys, Vivaldi (I used to play the violin)... soul music, some classic rock, some jazz, I like some songs in every genre.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One thing that comes to mind is seeing first-hand the fire drill at Kinkakuji temple. The nuns running the orphanage (where I was volunteering, and the closest residence to the temple) took turns holding the giant fire hoses and aiming them just shy of the temple.
Another thing is getting to walk in the 60th anniversary of the 4th of July parade my grandma started in Durham, North Carolina. I was carrying the Guilford Courthouse flag that she handmade.
