Hello! I’m Tom, I’m a British PhD student studying Physics (Condensed Matter Theory) in London for the next few years. At the moment I spend most of my time working, cooking, growing plants, cycling around London and buildings things in my spare time!

I'm on couch surfing because I find it a really nice way to meet and interact with people who I might never have met!

Interessi

I like to cook a lot, I've always got a sour-dough bread on the go, and love going to the local markets to buy fresh vegetables to cook with.

I always have a pair of running shoes with me so that I can sneak a quick run in here or there. I also do yoga when I can find the space or a good class.

I'm slowly learning French from reading books and listening to podcasts but could always use more speaking practice.

I also really like making things, I’m building a 3D printer at home (which I will not be bringing to Munich ;) ) and am generally quite good at fixing things around the house.

At the university I've recently started looking after a beehive for the environmental society so I'm currently learning all about bees, honey and beeswax! I also help look after the allotment there along with a collection of houseplants at home.

I like exploring. I grew up scrabbling around abandoned buildings and picking way through the natural world, the more overgrown and wild the better. I love to find myself far from signs of civilisation.

My Dad and I have took a road trip from the UK to Senegal, spending time in France, Spain, Morocco, Mauritania, Senegal and The Gambia.
