About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Baja1000, Class 11...

ABOUT ME

At one time I thought I was too dumb to learn a foreign language, so I packed my suitcase and moved to Germany to learn German.

PHILOSOPHY

If you're interested in telling me, I am interested in listening.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I go to local CS meetings from time to time and surfed a lot in Europe, once in NYC. I enjoy hosting when I can.

I can also give really good advice concerning places to visit all across the United States, just name a state!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I can't believe that I did not know about this website earlier! I've done this for years through family, friends, friends-of-friends...

Basically, it has been amazing to meet so many people with the same outlook on traveling and sharing cultures. So far everyone has been as their profiles suggested and I am always glad to give a kind-hearted attitude in return, be it as surfer or host.

Interests

learning new things, backpacking, photographing, making something out of nothing

  • traveling
  • backpacking

Music, Movies, and Books

I used to study music, so I appreciate it as an art and am open to ANYthing. James Brown to Outkast, Led Zeppelin to The Cramps, Black Sabbath to Rob Zombie, The Beastie Boys to RATM, Johnny Cash to Townes Van Zandt, the Prodigy to Benny Benassi, Scriabin to Mr. Bungle, Schubert to Grainger... it is really endless.

I'll read anything as well, but I don't always commit to finishing books.

Movies... well, I'll watch anything once, but it takes good script-writing and cinematography to keep me engaged (ex.: No Country For Old Men, Spirited Away, High Fidelity, the Animatrix, Call Me By Your Name).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In my first month of living in Germany, my language skills were still very sparse. One afternoon I passed by a very old woman trimming the plants in her yard. I asked if she would cut me some beautiful flowers from her garden and she did!

Teach, Learn, Share

I know a little about a lot of things and I know a lot about a little. Photography is my forte, traveling is what opens my eyes, kindness is what I devote my life to and other people's experience is what I hope to gain.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I cook for myself and make enough to share. I have the ability for spontaneity because I am organized. I am also very thorough and receptive in communication. Most importantly though, I am aware when those areas are out of alignment and I will let you know if I am not operating at full steam.

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Belgium, Canada, Colombia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Mexico, Netherlands, Northern Ireland, Poland, Sweden, Switzerland, United States

Countries I’ve Lived In

Germany, United States
