About Me

Hey there! I’m Tomislav, but you can call me Tomo. I’m new to Couchsurfing, and I’m really excited to dive into this community and start meeting amazing people from all around the world. I’m originally from Croatia, and my background is as diverse as it gets—I’m a tattoo artist by passion and a corporate payments specialist by profession. This mix of creativity and structure makes for some interesting stories, which I’m always happy to share!

I come from a religious background, which has taught me the value of respect and understanding in connecting with people from all walks of life. It’s given me a deep appreciation for different perspectives, and I love engaging in meaningful conversations where we can learn from each other.

I’m an open-minded queer person who loves to entertain and explore. Whether it’s discovering hidden gems in a city or trying out new experiences, I’m always up for an adventure. I’m also really into cooking, painting, and drawing—I find joy in creating something beautiful, whether it’s on a canvas or in the kitchen.

I’ve traveled a bit and gathered some interesting tales along the way, and I’m eager to hear yours too! I believe that every person has something unique to offer, and I’m excited to learn from the people I meet.

Looking forward to making new friends, sharing good food, great conversations, and maybe even a sketch or two. Let’s create some unforgettable memories together!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

The main reason I’m on Couchsurfing is to explore as much of the world as possible. Life is full of surprises, and I believe that the best way to embrace its unpredictability is by stepping out of my comfort zone and experiencing new places, cultures, and perspectives. For me, travel isn’t just about seeing new sights—it’s about connecting with the people who make those places special.

I’m here because I value the human connections that Couchsurfing fosters. The stories, experiences, and friendships you create with people from all over the world are what truly enrich the journey. I want to learn from others, share my own experiences, and together, make the most out of this incredible adventure called life.

In the end, it’s the people you meet along the way who leave the biggest impact, and I’m excited to see where this journey takes me!

Music, Movies, and Books

When it comes to movies, I have a bit of a quirky taste—I’m a huge fan of both romantic movies and horror films. I know, it’s a weird combination, but I love how both genres can surprise you in completely different ways.
My all-time favorite movie is The Notebook—there’s something about its timeless love story that gets me every time.
As for books, The Neverending Story is my favorite. It’s a magical tale that reminds me of the power of imagination and how stories can take us to worlds beyond our own.
When it comes to music, I have a soft spot for good country tunes. Artists like Zach Bryan and Noah Kahan are some of my favorites.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One of the most incredible experiences I’ve had was traveling the entirety of Iceland during the harsh winter months. It was an unforgettable journey through storms, icy roads, and some of the most breathtaking landscapes I’ve ever seen. The adventure was challenging but incredibly rewarding—there’s something about braving the elements that makes you feel truly alive. The raw beauty of Iceland in winter is something I’ll never forget, and it taught me a lot about resilience and the wonders of nature.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love sharing my skills and passions with others. I’m really good at cooking, especially when it comes to whipping up something delicious from whatever’s on hand. I also have a strong passion for drawing and tattooing—whether you’re interested in learning some drawing techniques, talking about tattoo art, or even getting a small tattoo, I’m more than happy to share my expertise.
