ABOUT ME

Hi there! My name's Tomasz, but friends call me Tomek, I'm 29 and I'm a keen traveler. I've just learned about CS from friends and want to join this wonderful way to travel more freely and to meet people from all over the world by offering my humble couch :) Beside travelling, I love fast cars, new types of food, good music, adventure novels and I'm always up to date with the news! I come from Krosno, a picturesque town in South-East Poland, but I live in the Polish capital city: Warsaw. More precisely, I'm located in the district of Wola, near the city center. I've just moved in to a new flat, which is located near the old, but I'm still finishing it off (it's about to be ready in a month). I work for HP (I bet you have at least one peace of computer equipment made by us!) as business analyst. If you would like to learn more about me - and I bet you do :) - book a ticket to Warsaw and use my couch ;)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am new to couch surfing, so I am waiting for surfers who would like to come and use my humble place. But I have a long history of hosting travellers - friends and strangers, boys and girls, all ages. Meeting people is fun and I love people who enjoy discovering new places!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Gosh, I have used all kinds of couches! My craziest adventure ever was in Regensburg (Germany), where the "couch" was in fact a mattress located on the floor of a 10sqm room and there were 6 people sharing it :D. It was damn great! :D

Interests

First, there was music. And God said, let there be rock. Name any band: Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, and I will play any title to you.

But then, there's more I love. Travelling: there's always so much more you can learn about the world and the people. And there is no better way to do this than go and experience everything yourself.

Also, there's books (Stieg Larsson is my last discovery), movies (Star Wars is a favourite classic, but I also know what's up in the cinemas), TV series (Californication, House, Mad Men - to name just a few) and I never go to sleep without knowing what's new in politics.

Music, Movies, and Books

Why, should I enumerate it all? Good rock is the basics. And I don't mind any kind of music as long as it's sensible. I have a long list of favourite artists and it goes across genders, styles, and epoques.

As for the books and the movies - I love both, but my lady says my taste is rather simple. Well, let's say I'm not a literary critic but a simple guy who reads and watches for pleasure ;)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Life's amazing... And honestly, the most amazing thing for me is how amazing simplest things are.

And I believe that when it comes to places, the most amazing ones are yet there for me to be seen!

Teach, Learn, Share

From my experience, there's one main thing to share: Never be closed and blind to people you meet. CS is not just about finding a place to sleep, it is about experiencing. Of course, never impose yourself, give your guest surfers and your hosts as much privacy as their expect. But as long as both sides want to communicate - do this! Every place you go to is a new lesson - do your best to learn it!
