About Me
Hi! I've been living in Manchester for a few years now and I love the city for it's food, nightlife, art and people, I hope you get to see it for yourself!
In 2011 I was lucky enough to travel around the world and unsurprisingly had the time of my life. I traveled through Asia, Australasia and America and had some great experiences thanks to couchsurfing. Now I'm back in rainy old England dreaming of having the chance to do something similar again.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Couchsurfing is without a doubt the best way to travel, it's the easiest way to stop feeling like a tourist and start to know what a place is really all about.
Hosting helps to mix up the humdrum of day to day life by bringing people from all over the world into your home.
Interests
Cooking is my main hobby and about the only thing I'm half decent at. Tried some amazing food on my travels, but luckily never have to try dog or durian again...
Being a true Brit I love to drink as well as eat, beer is king for me and nothing beats having a few pints in the pub with friends.
Going out to see Djs and bands as well as going to festivals is how I like to spend my freetime.

Music, Movies, and Books
At the moment I mainly listen to house, techno, garage etc. Boiler Room music.
Hip-hop has always been the bread and butter of my music taste, A Tribe Called Quest being my favorite artists.
I'm not as clued up on guitar music as I used to be but I try to make an effort to listen to it from time to time again.
Films I enjoy:
Do the Right Thing, The Lives of Others, Withnail and I, Coen Brothers' stuff, Almodovar's stuff, Wes Anderson's stuff...
TV:
The Wire, Game of Thrones, Breaking Bad, Curb Your Enthusiasm, South Park, Peep Show, Trailer Park Boys...
Fav. books:
Midnight's Children - Salman Rushdie
Things Fall Apart - Chinua Achebe
The Things they Carried - Tim O'Brien
As I Lay Dying - William Faulkner
100 Years of Solitude - Gabriel García Márquez
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Sometimes big sites live up to the hype and they're the things you'll never forget like the Taj Mahal, Great Wall of China, Ankor Wat...
Hiking the Tongariro crossing, traversing an underground river in Laos, swimming with (friendly) sharks and learning to cook Thai food were some of the highlights of my RTW trip.
Teach, Learn, Share
Being half Indian I cook a pretty mean curry but I like to cook food from all over the world, maybe we can swap recipes.
What I Can Share with Hosts
We live in the Norther Quarter which is located in the centre of the city. It's the cultural quarter of the city which hosts plenty of cool bars, restaurants and music venues. We're also super close to all the main transport links.
We both work during the week but are happy to show you around in the evenings and weekends.
