About Me
I've always tried to follow the motto "Why not me". Earlier in 2022 I quit my job to backpack Southeast Asia for 3 amazing months. Starting in mid September I'll be in Europe for a month and after that... who knows :)
I'm a people person, I'm quick with a joke and I love singing and dancing (both poorly). I love being active whether it's playing games, working out or doing outdoor activities like hiking or surfing. I'm a big "try everything once" kind of guy and am constantly trying to learn new things. I love to read and write and watch movies too!
I'm sure I'm missing things here. Please ask questions if you'd like to know more, I don't bite!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
My favorite thing about traveling is the people you meet. There are so many amazing people in this world who come in all shapes and sized; I want to meet them all! I think Couchsurfing is a great way to do that.
I don't just want to travel to fancy resorts, I want to meet local people and learn about the culture in the countries I'm traveling to. I want to see what they like to do rather than listen to Google about what the best things to do are!

Music, Movies, and Books
I LOVE to read and also love movies and music. I've also tried my hand at writing some songs and plan to write a novel or screenplay someday soon!
My favorite types of books are fantasy/sci-fi, Stephen King, and historical fiction,
My favorite types of movies are any and all! Action/adventure, comedy, drama, documentaries, you name it I like it.
I also love pretty much all types of music, but some of my favorites right now are classic rock and groovy EDM.
What do you like? I'd love to learn about some of your preferences!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
A few amazing travel highlights:
-Traveling solo for three months through SE Asia
-Underground reggae concert. Thousands of people dancing together until the early morning hours in the middle of the Costa Rican jungle!
- Hiked up a volcano just in time for sunset in Bali
-Jumping off and sliding down countless waterfalls in SE Asia
- Was one of only a few foreigners on an annual motorbike ride hosted by a local motorcycle gang in Thailand. 500km in 2 days and we call camped out in the mountains overnight together!
- Learned to scuba dive in the islands of Thailand
- Spent four days riding motorbikes through the beautiful Ha Giang region of northern Vietnam
What I Can Share with Hosts
I'm happy to help anyone practice their English. I'm a good cook so would love to prepare a few meals for my host or can just generally help out around the house. I can also teach anything people want to know about American culture, or share some fun travel stories!
I'm currently learning Spanish but would love to learn any new language. I'd also love to continue learning surfing. Aside from that, I want to learn as much as I can about life in the countries I visit.
If anyone knows how to play the guitar or ukelele I'd love a lesson too :)
