About Me

Keen to enjoy any chance to travel and any opportunities that may come my way on holiday, including meeting any interesting people on the way. Graduated from the University of Leeds in 2013, studying International Development. Worked in a few jobs since, including: on the London Eye, in schools with students with special needs and on a research project in Nepal. Training to be a teacher in 2016-17.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Seems like a great opportunity to travel on a tight budget, whilst meeting new and interesting people.

Interests

Open minded person, open to finding any topics interesting. Love playing and watching sport (rugby union is a favourite), travel (obviously), reading, going out with friends, wildlife, history, politics, theatre, cycling and walking and all those other things that people do...

Music, Movies, and Books

Love basically any music that isn't heavy metal or dub step.

Like the same movies as basically everyone else probably. If I was to recommend you a great film that you probably hadn't seen I would say Calvary, starring Brendan Gleeson or The Darjeeling Ltd, directed by Wes Anderson.

Lean towards books set abroad, in a different time or even fantasy based - anything a bit escapist really. Favourite author is probably John Steinbeck.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Living and working in remote South Nepal on a research/development project for 5 months is definitely up there so far. Hard to have done too much amazing stuff as a 23 year old graduate when you've recently just spent at least three years studying/drinking.

Teach, Learn, Share

Happy-go-lucky bloke who's always up for learning or experiencing new things. Big sense of humour means we'll have a good laugh whilst getting to know each other. Happy to give/receive tips on where to travel in different places, learn about your culture/country and get off the beaten track to see what it's really like to live in different places in the world, whether I'm in your city or if I'm showing you round London.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm open to new experiences and always keen to make the most of any opportunity or situation. Hopefully, I will provide you with a low maintenance and happy-go-lucky guest who won't be any hassle! Having said that, if any hosts have the time to show me around or even take me out to sample the local nightlife on offer, I would be only too happy to take them up on the offer!
