About Me

I'm a 26 y/o young man who finished an apprenticeship as a Foreign Language Clerk (just a nice description for a secretary with foreign language skills). Now I want to travel around use my knewly-learned skills (and as Grammar nazi maybe give one or two lessons :-))

I love eating (which you will see when we meet). My credo is "I survive to eat". I think this already tells a lot about me. I'd totally love to try a traditional meal from your country.

My friends say that I'm funny, friendly, helpful and nice (and sometimes a little bit weird, but that's a good sign, isn't it?). I'm a non-smoker and a simple mattress is mostly what I ask for.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

In 2014 I worked in Barcelona for the summer and met some people who surfed on our flat couch. This was the first time I got into this.

The one guy was so amazing, we had so much fun hanging around and now I want to experience such things again, to meet new people and to share interessting stories.

This year I will be traveling through South America in order to extend my Spanish skills.

Interests

I know I should do a lot more sport but meh. The only sport I'm really interested in is skateboarding (or board sports at all). But I had to stop after I had a surgery on my knee a few years ago.

However, to stay in shape, I decided to eat. And to travel with a backpack. Maybe I can sweat away all the fat.

I also like watching stupid videos on YouTube or just hang around, listening to music, talking rubbish, this kind of stuff.
I'm not a partymaker dude, but that's fine by me.
Still love to drink one or two beers. Or three. Well sometimes four. You know how this can be.

Music, Movies, and Books

Mostly I'm listening to all kinds of rock music but sometimes other music, too, like rap or pop or whatever comes to my mind. Some of my favourite bands are: Blitz Kids, Blink-182, System of A Down, Taylor Swift (seriously), Eminem, Silversun Pickups, Volbeat, Keny Arkana, ...
I love to listen to music from abroad and would love to hear your favourite song :-).

I love reading and always have a book with me. What I can really recommend is Feuchtgebiete ("wetlands") by Charlotte Roche, a great German novel about a girl finding her love while being a weirdo. If you haven't read it, do it. Do it now! Warning: Some say they had to puke while reading it.

I prefer watching series than movies like Walking Dead, Scrubs, Breaking Bad or Gotham. My all time favourite movies, however, are Inception, Memento, Shutter Island (love those complex movies), the Back to the Future series, EuroTrip, ...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Well, there was once that one thing, when we went to Barcelona and as soon as we arrived we went out of money, so we turned back home.
Or that one time, when we spend 24 hours inside of a McDonalds restaurant.
Or that one time, when we rated the people who went to the toilet on the Rock Im Park Festival in Nuremberg.
Great stories come from great adventures, right?

Teach, Learn, Share

As mentioned before I finished my apprenticeship in English and Spanish, and as a native German I could teach one of those languages.

I'm open-minded and welcome almost all kinds of exercise unless it's too exhausting. I will be glad to learn something from you and/or your country.

What I can say for sure is, that even the worst and most boring things can teach you something. It might be only one little thing like how to make the perfect salad dressing. But hey, even Caesar needed time to create his famous salad.

What I Can Share with Hosts

This is where it gets tricky: I'm unfortunately not very talented in anything. But I always try to make new experience. I like to share my adventures and I'm interested in learning more about different people and cultures. And of course I'm always prepared to drink a beer or two ... I'm German you know? :-D

For me the most important thing is just to have a good time and to be happy.

If you only want to meet and have a chat I'm glad to hear from you, too.
