About Me
I'M CURRENTLY TRAVELING AND THEREFORE NOT ACCEPTING GUESTS, BEST OF LUCK WITH EVERYTHING!
`````````
Hi! I'm a 23 year old sound designer, musician, and motorcycle enthusiast. Hmmm, I'm not messy and, although my desire to help definitely extends beyond my skills, having grown up on a small farm and worked in a number of fields from carpentry to foodservice, I suppose I can be useful. But now I feel like I'm selling myself -- you're probably pretty awesome, and I like to think I'm at leeeeast tolerable, so let's meet, yeah?? misanthropes suck, people are cool
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
because I wanna hang out with you
or even if you're the anti-social type, I'll still settle for a floor/couch/chair/yard to crash in
I'm going to be traveling a fair amount this next year, from Canada and the U.S. to Colombia, Ecuador, Perú, Bolivia, Paraguay, Chile, Argentina, Uruguay, and Brazil -- all on my motorcycle (KLR650, for any of you gearheads. Don't worry, I'm not a "biker", just happen to love traveling on two wheels). I'm up for camping and hostels, but I know the best experiences come from staying with locals, so my hope is to do that as much as possible.
Interests
Having gone to school for and working in the film industry, my love of movies and, more recently, video games, is pretty strong. My biggest interest is traveling. My international travel background is relatively limited, though I've been to 44 of the 50 U.S. states. I'm fascinated by social structures and the different ways people organize themselves
and I love pretty much anything that has to do with motorcycles
- design
- cooking
- motorcycles
- movies
- video games
- traveling
- music
- camping
Music, Movies, and Books
For music, it's varied, though I tend to gravitate most strongly to rap
Movies, my two favorite genres tend to be comedy (Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz) and horror (Inside, (rec), 28 Days Later), though I love stuff across the board, including into the realm of documentaries
Books: my friend recently turned me onto the world of graphic novels by lending me Asterios Polyp which I fell in love with. The most recent book I've read that I loved was The Brief and Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao. I'm also a big fan of travel books (Jupiter's Travels, Motorcycle Diaries) and non-fiction in a broader sense (People's History of the United States, People's History of the World)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
living for 23 years is kinda cool i guess??
spent 29 days riding my motorcycle through Canada earlier this summer, went up through Quebec to Labrador then across to Newfoundland and down through Nova Scotia and New Brunswick -- stayed with a number of people on couchsurfing and had some amazing experiences
What I Can Share with Hosts
very moderate yet enthusiastic cooking skills; mechanical knowledge; farming, carpentry, and landscaping experience; audio recording, editing, or mixing needs (very specific and unlikely, I know, but it's what I do for a living, so figured I'd mention it)
Countries I’ve Visited
Argentina, Bahamas, Canada, Ireland, Mexico, Saint Martin (French part), Virgin Islands, U.S.
Countries I’ve Lived In
United States
