Overview
About Me
Hi! You can call me Tom, Tommy, or Gerald (long story). My current path is driving me to use whatever tools are available to work on environmental, social, economical, etc problems. I'm a chemical and software engineer, so STEM are my goto tools.
I'm a classical pianist, I've practiced since I was 8. Lately my focus had been on trying to compose... which I've found is incredibly difficult but intriguing. I like many genres of music but tend towards rap and electronic music.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm minimalist & utilitarian, so the Couchsurfing culture vibes with me. I like gaining new different perspectives, for in addition simply to satisfy my curiosity, I think this is increasingly important to becoming a more mindful society in this ever-expanding world. Also, in general, I like to be on-the-go meeting new people and seeing new places.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
In April 2015, I took 10 days to visit 3 of my friends in Iceland. We rented a small cabin outside the capital and rented a car. Every day, we picked up a sandwich makings and drove out. We explored mountains, looked at waterfalls, and swam in a hot springs up in the mountains. It was an incredible reunion.
Teach, Learn, Share
Do you have a piano? Are you learning an instrument? I'm very musically inclined and would love to exchange notes on music. One of my proudest accomplishments is learning to connect with the music I play.
I can teach you lots about science & technology.
What I Can Share with Hosts
