ABOUT ME

My friends would describe me as someone who is very open minded and has the ability to listen. Even if I am not very much outgoing sometimes I like to be on stage and to entertain even hundereds of people.
Something very special: I have been travelling all around the world. Even so I am very steady in my life. I lived in the same appartement in Vienna for 60 years and I worked for the same company since I started business. The same goes for my friends - many of them I know from school. In general I am optimistic with some kind of realism ;-)

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I started traveling around for a few times, but even more I enjoy hosting. Lots of people stayed at my apartment until ... Covid-19! But doors are open again :-)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

First experience as guest of Alexandra and Igor at Belgrade - could not have been better! And all the others I've met? I don't want to miss one of them!!!
Friendship around the world - that's what I like :-)

Interests

Most important I like to be with other people and to interact with them. This was part of my profession where I had to work with all kind of people and motivate and coach them through the difficulties of business. This coped well with my interest in psychology.
From my childhood onward I always liked travelling and to meet people from all around the world. One of my best friends is Italian and I met him years (better to say decades) ago in Tunesia.
It is my great pleasure to cook for guests and I prefere always to try new recepies.
In Vienna I have a lot of possibilities to go to the opera, theatres, cinemas and museums - and I use these opportunities.

I like documentarys, biographies, history very much but in general everything good!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Many years ago I was in Wales (UK) to take part in a Folk Festival and I stayed with a local family. They organized a dinner at their home with a lot of other people coming from all around the world. Most of them did not speak English and we could not talk to each other ... BUT WE HAD A LOT OF FUN! And at this evening I understood that people where ever they live have only one intention: To live in peace, to have enough food and a nice place to live!
Two years ago I went to the arctic world and it was so fascinating to see and live in a world where economics and businessplans have not influenced everything - one could really feel nature!

Teach, Learn, Share

Some years ago I took part in a training to become a professional coach. Although I didn’t use this tool in my professional business it added a lot of knowledge to my daily life about how people are thinking - I like to share my personal experience of life with others.
What I want to learn from you? Everything - maybe it sounds silly but I found out that everything might become interesting when you get more informations about it.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Whenever I host someone I try to spend as much time together as possible.
If you want I will take you for a trip along the famous Vienna Ringstrasse with all the beautiful monuments like opera, town hall, Imperial Palace, ...
Of course it will be my pleasure to cook some Austrian speciality or at least join you having a typical meal in a restaurant.
Since I know quite well Vienna I will assist you finding your way through Austria's capital.
