About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To see the world for what it is.

ABOUT ME

I recently completed my studies and since then I worked on building sites and sat in Spanish classes to prepare for a journey across the continent (only to be in Brazil for a month...)
I am an avid runner and a keen historian, Id like to think that I was affable and interesting, however I'll leave that to the world. My main aim is to not annoy people and to not get too involved in people's lives, so I'd imagine I wouldn't be the worst of guests..

PHILOSOPHY

I live mainly to experience what the world had to offer. I can't stand being lazy, so I see everyday as a task to tackle another part of the world you don't really know. Living in London, and especially in East London, there was so much culture and hidden secrets that could be discovered wit just the slightest indication from Time Out or the Internet that could allow me to see and learn more about (what is in my opinion) a truly incredible city. But, other than this, on a more personal level I set out to meet people and to make people feel welcomed. Treat people as you would like to be treated - honestly, fairly and with genuine character.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I don't fully get this one. On my journey so far I've mainly enjoyed meeting new people from around the world and, where I can, speak to them in a different language. I aim to connect with people and to make them feel comfortable, as a result of this I experienced so much more in Brazil than I thought I would. I want to see how people behave in a culture and learn from them in a way I wouldn't if I had gone travelling with a group of friends from home.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Well I only learnt about couchsurfing while I was out here. Back home we always had friends of my brothers and sisters live and stay with us, people my mum knew come to us from around the world, but I'll be sure to convince them to join up to couchsurfing when I get back, as I think it's an incredible organisation.

Interests

Back home I am really interested in keeping fit and I am a passionate runner. I am also very interested in History and on my travels I've learnt a lot to do with reading also.

Music, Movies, and Books

I realised a year or so ago that I lacked any real knowledge of music, so in a real drive for every genre I found a real love - rock and roll. I can listen to The Doors, Stones, Ramones and especially Creedance Clearwater Revival for hours. However I listen to other music, Dylan to start, but a lot of Hip Hop, Country and of course Pop.

Just saw this is also about movies and books! Shane Meadows is my favourite director, I love Fight Club and Juno, but to be honest I mainly watch TV Series. I am really in to Comedy, I watch a lot of Curb your Enthusiasm and Seinfeld, as well as a lot of others. On the drama side there is Sopranos, The Wire, Breaking Bad, OZ, The Shield... Theyre just so good!

Failing to read so much as a child was my biggest regret. I am a big fan of George Orwell and I read a lot of history, and I love to hear about books from people. One day, I will bea reader, and I will be a much more understanding person.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The Olympics in Stratford. The Opening Ceremony brought me close to tears, the two weeks were the happiest I have ever been and the whole thing was magical. To be an athlete at this time, of the local athletics club especially and to see so much of the games - this made my life so far. I could talk about the games for hours...

Teach, Learn, Share

Skills... My best friend was a serious magician so I can teach the most basic of magic tricks (that is of course if you can be trusted!) I have a lot of knowledge about training, so if you are ever wanting to learn of how to train for a marathon or get in to shape I can offer quite a lot of info on certain aspects as I have devoted so much of my time to running and coaching.

Countries I’ve Visited

Argentina, Australia, Brazil, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Spain, United States
