Overview
About Me
I work in a museum/library in London and in my free time I love to travel and meet new people. Living abroad has allowed me to make friends from all over the world, and I'm lucky enough to have kept in contact with many of them! I'm easy to get on with, I enjoy discovering new music, playing games (card games, board games, anything really) and learning about different cultures. I've recently come back to the UK from a nine month trip to east Asia and then Eastern Europe - already looking forward to whatever will come next!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm pretty open-minded and would love to stay with some like-minded travellers and learn something new in each place I travel to. I've heard great things about Couchsurfing so I knew it was the next step to try out! When travelling, I typically stay in hostels/AirBnBs but I'd love to get into the couchsurfing community more for the next big trip.
Interests
I try and dabble in a bit of everything, without spreading myself too thin! I'm passionate about history, especially the 1960s where a lot of popular social movements were born. I love reading fiction and non-fiction, trying to expand my ideas and talking to new people.

Music, Movies, and Books
I listen to a variety of music - sometimes I'm in a very electronic phase, e.g. Ross From Friends, Hidden Spheres, Grant (all quite lo-fi house), and other times more mellow/indie e.g. the xx, Chromatics, Shura. I'm also quite into conscious hip-hop such as A Tribe Called Quest, Blue Scholars. I'll listen to anything to discover new genres.
Movies I enjoy are usually historical fictions, dramas (with dark humour) or psychological thrillers. Some of my favourites are Nixon, JFK, Blue is the Warmest Colour, Jackie Brown, Nightcrawler, Goodfellas, loads more I can't remember right now!
My favourite books are The Jungle by Upton Sinclair, Darkness at Noon by Arthur Koestler and Giovanni's Room by James Baldwin. Also recently finished Flowers for Algernon (very thought provoking), Our Man in Havana, It Can't Happen Here and Lucky Jim; I really recommend all of them! Would love to discuss more if anyone has also read any of these.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Driving through Death Valley in California was an experience. Also, catching shrimps at midnight in a waterfall in Jiaoxi, Taiwan!
Teach, Learn, Share
I know lots of card shuffling techniques which are good party tricks, and a couple of old magic tricks too which I am willing to teach anyone interested. I like to learn even just a few phrases in other languages. Generally, we can share travel experiences and crazy stories.
What I Can Share with Hosts
A love of travel and exchanging culture. Recommendations about where to go. I can be a handy friend to know from London who can show you around if you visit, make sure you don't fall into the tourist traps! I can't cook much but am cool to order some food for us or get a couple of drinks in! Cheers
