ABOUT ME
I say dude alot, partially because it's a habit, and partially because I think it loosens people up. Some see it a disrespectful, and it may be, but I really think it puts us all on the same level. You're a dude, I'm dude, she's a dude, they're dudes. Replace the word human with the word dude, or vice-versa, and you'll understand. I can appreciate and enjoy almost anything. I generally find I appreciate people and animals more than anything else, but I love soccer, music, good cooking, and nature as well. I especially enjoy meeting new people and becoming aware of how differently we all can view certain things.
I come from a close-knit family of 10 (11 pending) kids, and as a result I can get along in just about any environment.
PHILOSOPHY
Before embarking on a journey of revenge, dig two graves. -Confucius I suppose that doesn't count as my personal philosophy, as it was Confucius who first said it, but I do take his words to heart. I try to be an easy going guy, keep the atmosphere positive, and not let things get to me. Too many potentially good times in a given day are ruined by bitterness, anger, and mistrust. I try to avoid those feelings as much as I can.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I used CS in Europe during 2007 and it was a great experience. I have hosted several foreign exchange students and been one myself, and I really like showing people the town, learning about their life and country, and simply spreading good cheer.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I think I'm very good at getting comfortable in any situation, and I had some good experiences couchsurfing in Europe.
Interests
people, music, animals, travel, soccer(Footy), languages, literature, the outdoors, and good times, the kind you can think about years later and still have a laugh.
I play string bass in the school orchestra, and electric bass and guitar.

Music, Movies, and Books
Movies- Forrest Gump, Crash, Black Beauty, Mr. Smith Goes To Washington, and a host of others, but I'm not a big fan of the tele.
Music- Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Dismemberment Plan, Neil Young, Death Cab for Cutie, Common, Minus the Bear, Barrington Levy, Bob Marley, Citizen Cope, Radiohead, and I'll give any sincere and semi-talented artist a chance.
Books- Anything by Dickens and Vonnegut. I also liked Spandau, Smokey the Cowhorse, and thousands of others. I read every single night.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
The Milford Track, New Zealand. THE MOST beautiful hike in the world, granted it is a biased opinion, as I've only hiked in the USA, Canada, Alaska, Austria and Northern Germany. It isn't very tough at all, but the views, the waterfalls, the people, the air, the KIA birds, and the vegetation are amazing.
Teach, Learn, Share
I would love to teach/jam/learn with musicians of any sort. Also would play a pick up game of soccer/football at the drop of a hat. I'm willing to learn just about whatever someone has to offer.
Countries I’ve Visited
Austria, Bahamas, Belgium, Canada, France, Germany, Ireland, Netherlands, United Kingdom
Countries I’ve Lived In
New Zealand, United States
