About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Organising for a general strike

ABOUT ME

I studied Politics at Univerity and am a Socialist and activist that spends most of his time in the UK.

Although...some people say that sounds very serious, and I am not, I can assure you! ;)

PHILOSOPHY

I think everyone is created equally and I like to treat them as such. I like talking to people and finding out about their lives. Im the kind of person that talks to people on the train, always trying to make connections. Its easy to feel disconnected in our society but I have found that everyone is basically the same: the same aspirations, the same things that make them happy.

To quote Tom Paine, the great revolutionary: "my country is the world, my religion is to do good."

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have couchsurfed around South America, also in England.

Interests

Politics, travel (obviously), music: indie, reggae, ska.

I am an avid reader and take a layman's interest in architecture. I am a massive football fan, supporting the mighty Oxford United FC (what do you mean you haven`t heard of them?). In fact some of my earliest travel experiences, when I was just a small boy, was travelling alone or with friends to 'away' matches in other cities.

Music, Movies, and Books

As I said indie such as Radiohead and reggae such as Toots and the Maytals to give two examples. I like political books (I am cuurently reading a biography of Che Guevara) and travel books (such as Jupiter's Travels).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Travelling overland from England to Malaysia. I did this without catching a flight, and mostly by train.

Another amazing thing that I think I have done was to work for nearly two years in a job that i hated, that nearly sent me mad, to save up enough money to come to South America.

Teach, Learn, Share

I have a degree in Politics and have been an activist. I can help with political questions, help with Trade Unions and problems at work etc. or advising how to start or get invloved with a campaign.

Countries I’ve Visited

Albania, Austria, Belgium, Cambodia, China, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Gibraltar, Greece, Hungary, India, Ireland, Italy, Jamaica, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Mongolia, Montenegro, Morocco, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Qatar, Romania, Russian Federation, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Switzerland, Thailand, Vatican City State, Viet Nam
