ABOUT ME
Currently my girlfriend and I are cycling around Europe. We hope to spend 6 months seeing as much of the continent as we can.
I am a History and Politics graduate from Stirling University in Scotland.
I am now an explorer, i cant think of anything else to do right now and its pretty fun. I want to live in lots of places, explore all sorts of countries, climb big mountains and swim in all variety of lakes, rivers and oceans.
I am an energetic person and am always on the go, there just isnt enough hours in the day really!
I love the outdoors and nature and all sorts of sports! I like to socialise, meet new people and listen to a wide variety of music.
I enjoy reading, studying and drinking excessive amounts of tea.
PHILOSOPHY
"Not all those who wander are lost"
"There is none more fatal blunderer than he who consumes the greater part of his life getting his living."
- Thoreau
Happiness is best shared.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I have hosted in Scotland and Banff and surfed in many places, met many amazing people and done some incredible things.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I got a bit dissilusioned with couchsurfing. It was all just people looking for a free bed, not sending good requests and not being interested in the surfing experience. It saddened me to see the change come slowly in. I have had some fantastic experiences though and am now willing to give it another try!
I have had a number of people surf with me at my old place in Scotland and a few in Banff. Have also had some with me and my friends in Bournemouth.
I have personally surfed in Canada, the U.S., Italy, Bulgaria and Estonia. I hope to add to the list soon.
Interests
History, politics, sports, music, hiking, cycling, snow-sports, surfing, climbing, reading. If there is water, I want to be in it, I would like to think that I would never turn down an opportunity for a dip in a lake/sea/river/bathtub/hot-spring. I like to talk and to think. For me nature is supreme, I love to be in it and it calms me greatly.

Catch 22 - Joseph Heller
Cancer Ward - Solzhenitsyn
The Lord of the Rings - J.R.R. Tolkein

Music: Sigur Ros, Elbow, RHCP, Massive Attack, Pearl Jam, Arcade Fire, Fleetwood Mac, Rodrigo Y Gabriela, Beirut, James, The Avalanches, Prodigy, Bonobo, Woodkid, Primal Scream, just to name a few. I think I am into every type of music and would be very interested in swapping some with you.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I lived in Alaska for a year, it was the most incredible time of my life, climbing on glaciers, staying in cabins, existing in the most beautiful scenery in the world with some of the most wonderful people I have ever met.
Traveled a bit of Europe and drove around the U.S.
Seen the northern lights and some breathtaking scenery.
Living in general is probably the most amazing experience that I can think of.
Teach, Learn, Share
Most of all I hope to share good times with you, and create and learn new things in the experiences we have.
What I Can Share with Hosts
An enjoyable respectful time. Interesting conversation hopefully and a desire to learn, see, explore and enjoy.
