About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I am promoting renewable energy installations on a residential and commercial level.

ABOUT ME

I have five children with the youngest in college. I have worked briefly in the wire and cable industry, started my own sawmill, sold building supplies, financial products such as term life insurance and mutual funds and managed a larger sawmill. I have lived in Marlboro, Vermont for thirty five years and just recently moved to Putney, Vermont.

PHILOSOPHY

I found the following quote and it really spoke to me.

Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body;
but rather a skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming,
"WOW - What A Ride!" ~Unknown

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I just learned about couch surfing through the Brattleboro, Vermont Time Trade. My partner and I are leaving April 25 for Grenada, Spain to film a documentary at the Second Annual Building with Hemp Symposium on April 27 & 28. We will be flying to England on Saturday April 30 and will visit farmers growing Hemp, processing plants and manufacturing facilities. It will be great to take advantage of couch surfing to meet others with similar experiences.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Since we live close to the School for International Living in Brattleboro, I have always wanted to host others from other countries that attend the school. Life has always seemed to get in the way from experiencing couch surfing. I'm looking forward hosting others in the near future.

Interests

I have kept bees in the past with limited success in producing honey. I have enjoyed scuba diving off the coast of Maine and on several trips to the Carribean. I have been promoting conservation, efficiency and renewable energy generation for the last fifteen years. I commuted to work in an electric pickup truck for several years and had experience with a 10kW Bergey wind turbine. I love to sing and dance.

Music, Movies, and Books

Most recently I have been reading self help books like the Abraham Teachings by Esther and Jerry Hicks.
I enjoy all kinds of music but favor classic rock.
I enjoy science fiction, action and feel good movies.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have witnessed some amazing sunrises and sunsets, sunlight shimmering over the water and the most beautiful waterfalls both large and small. My partner has encouraged me to accompany her on long walks in the nearby woods to enjoy all that nature has to offer.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm just beginning to realize the huge potential of couch surfing other than just having a place to stay. We can all learn from one another and realize we have much more in common than we ever could imagine. My partner and I hope to share all we learn about building homes with Hemp and it's other uses with anyone that has an interest.
