ABOUT ME

I am a very laid back but organised bloke who has little definite direction in life but wouldn't currently have it any other way.

After not realising a definite career path I wanted to dedicate myself to after University I decided to save up and go travelling for as long as possible and as widely as possible (after having some minor but amazing trips during youth/uni).

I left the day before New Year's Eve in 2009 and am still currently on the road. I spent 6 months in India, around a month each in Thailand, Laos and Cambodia and am now currently in Vietnam. I fly back to Bangkok soon and travel overland through Malaysia to Singapore where I fly to my ultimate destination, Australia. I plan to spend at least 2 years there if possible, after that who knows.........

I would describe myself as very friendly, enthusiastic, open-minded with a great sense of humour. I live to laugh and generally laugh at anything, no matter how stupid. I love meeting new people, learning new things and sharing experiences and have made many, many good friends on my travels.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am currently a newbie to the CS Project and therefore have not contributed a whole lot. Also the fact i've signed up whilst travelling means hosting is impossible until I reach Australia and settle for a while.

Interests

I love to travel, listen to music, try to surf whenever I can - even if it is very badly! I follow English football, enjoy reading and watching comedy film/TV and play a little bit of guitar. I'm a very sociable guy so I love to go out for a drink or two (Gin and Tonic please), have a boogie and a laugh, meet new people and share funny stories!

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies - Big comedy fan! Anchorman, Talladega Nights, The Other Guys, Dumb & Dumber, Jay & Silent Bob, Blues Brothers, Big Lebowski and probably a million others.

Music - It's my life so I could go on forever but some of my favourites are Black Keys, Sublime, Rolling Stones, Beatles, Bob Marley, The Bees, Jurassic 5 and The Libertines.

Books - Foremostly George Orwell, Hunter S. Thompson, Chuck Palahniuk, Aldous Huxley, Jack Kerouac, Grahame Greene and classics such as Tolstoy, Defoe, Dickens etc.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Mountainbiking down the world's highest motorable road in Ladakh, India has been the highlight for me so far. About 2 1/2 hours top to bottom, clear skies, incredible views, ipod turned up full, going no handed at ridiculous speed. Couldn't wipe the smile off my face for a few days!!
