About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To be fresh as fuck

ABOUT ME

I am drawn toward people who share a similar appreciation for life's absurdities, its riches, its complexity, and its simple beauty. I am a lover of all things we should be thankful for - food, drink, art, each other - and project this gratefulness to those around me. In this short time I'm here, I hope to live a respectful life to the people who have enriched my existence and to the planet I'm lucky enough to be inhabiting. I seek truth and knowledge in all its forms. I hope we will meet someday.

PHILOSOPHY

Life is ridiculous. It does us well to notice it, and laugh.

Seek truth in all things.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We have hosted many CSers, all of which have been extremely positive experiences. As anyone who has used the site knows, the community of users are kind, open-minded, and fun-loving. Some of my favorite experiences have been taking our guests to concerts or showing them around town.

Interests

I am currently working towards a PhD in neuroscience, and thus am fascinated by the complexity of the brain. My emphasis is on understanding how particular neural circuits give rise to complicated psychological processes, such as learning and memory. Music also plays a tremendously important role in my life. I primarily play bass guitar, but I can get along on the electric, the drums, the clarinet, or anything that makes a sound. I love to play music with others, and will experiment with any instrument to share a musical experience. I also devour music on a daily basis, and love to share and receive music suggestions. Live music and dancing are my primary means of entertainment, so if you enjoy either (or both), I'm sure we will have a good time together. Food is another passion of mine, as sharing food and drink with others is one of life's greatest joys. I enjoy conversation and spreading ideas and experiences, especially those which are either totally insane or deeply passionate. I also enjoy biking, literature, homebrewing, hiking.

Music, Movies, and Books

Love all kinds of music. Especially soul, funk, r&b, hip hop, shoegaze, ambient, jazz, art rock, drone, minimal, post-rock, post-punk, dub, noise, ... basically everything.

While I love movies, I just don't watch too many. I really appreciate talking to cinephiles to keep me up to date in the movie world. I love Kubrick, Jodorowsky, Lynch, etc.

Books: Wallace, Woolf, Faulkner, Vonnegut, Mailer, Calvino, Eliot

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Daft Punk Alive Tour 2007. Fucking incredible.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am an expert in neuroscience, especially regarding neural processes of learning and memory. I can totally nerd out about science if you would like to.

I have an extensive knowledge of music, and love sharing musical suggestions.

Like any proper Italian man, I can hold my own in the kitchen. Bring me the right tools and ingredients, and I can probably make you something not only edible, but pretty good.

Countries I’ve Visited

Costa Rica, Ecuador, France, Germany, Italy, Mexico, Portugal, Spain

Countries I’ve Lived In

United States
