About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To see as many of the great people who surfed my palace as possible on my European tour and Meet some new people!!!

ABOUT ME

Im a single guy living with my two dogs and cockatoo. My bills are payed by fixing cars which is very rewarding and my other passion is listeing to and writing music.I love to go camping in my Land Rovers(have three of them)so i guess thats another of my passions. My favourite thing on a Saturday afternoon is to go and watch a band at our local pub.Love to meet new people,as they say you cant have too many good friends.
Update:Ive taken a break from my career to travel europe and do a reunion tour.Lookin forward to seeing people that surfed my spare room in Brisbane.

PHILOSOPHY

Karmic law,not religious but believe in the law.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

So far Ive only done it once through a different avenue, but hope to host soonand surf later!
Update:In 2009 i basically threw the door to my home open to the world of couchsurfing.hosting started slow over a few months but gradually i was hosting more and more people until the whole thing went crazy and I found myself with thirteen people staying at my house in the two spare rooms or in their vans out the front.(see pic on my profile:Palace full). My home is not a pretty one but contains a lot of love and the connections I made during this time and the memories made will be treasured for a lifetime. To do what i did one must open their mind, bury their discriminations and learn to give wholeheartedly without expectation of return. The out of hand times cycled a few times like this, when you get a group of people together in this way with a good dynamic youve got a magic atmosphere of music, friendship, good times and people working together for the collective good of all!
sometimes you meet people that miss the point of couchsurfing and dont understand your culture but thats when you must let it go and take nothing personally.focus on the goodwill created.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Last year I flew to Adelaide to pick up my third Landy. Before leaving I put a share travel ad in the backpackers hostel.I met Phillip,a German fellow. We have been good mates ever since and keep regular contact since he went home.Such was a great experience hosting someone from a different culture that i cant wait to meet more people.Im planning to visit Phillip in Germany. As I was saying we travelled from Adelaide to Brisbane via south, through the Great Ocean Road as I have a lot of friends and family Through there. I was able to show Phillip what typical Australian familys live like and learn a lot about his culture. What a great trip! I dubbed it my great southern spare room tour as I originally come from Adelaide and before that Victoria. So naturally I stayed in a different spare room or couch every night. On returning to Brisbane Phillip went touring for a few months then came to stay for a couple of weeks before returning home.He brought a Dutch friend with him called Rick so got to meet another person.I got to show them how well we party down here.
Update:Still havent surfed many couches yet but from couchsurfing but the story is just starting to be written.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Camping on the beach one weekend. One morning sitting in camp a huge Goanna decided to join us.A bit scary but he was obviously tame.A fellow camper decide to feed and give water to the Goanna so he stayed for half an hour then wandered back into the sand hill.
Update:Last week now that im in Germany I was able to visit and see the camp my Grand father stayed in before fleeing Lithuania during the war.It was from there he left to come to Australia.
