I'm a community news reporter for a county and part of another county in Alabama. I've been at my job for six years. I'm also an intermediate artist in watercolor and acrylic, as well as a fictionist, nonfictionist, and a poet. I love nature, animals, people, children, water, and music. I love to laugh.
I have psoriatic arthritis and a rare inflammatory disease called Dercum's, so I deal with chronic pain and fatigue; however, I don't let it stop me from working and living. I do not require any special accomodations, except a lot of stairs will be difficult. I'm very polite, agreeable, considerate, and kind, but not a pushover. I can stay with females and married couples, but would prefer not to stay with single males.

I love what I do, but it doesn't pay well, which is why I need to couchsurf when I travel, which isn't often due to my work schedule and low pay. I also love meeting new people and exploring new places. I can't offer a place to stay for anyone right now because I'm currently living in a tinyhome while I search for a house to buy. However, as soon as we find a house and get it ready, I'd love to have guests.

I love all kinds of music, but I have a particular love of bluegrass, jazz, R&B, and the blues. I also enjoy rock, metal, punk, and classical. I love funny movies, philosophical movies, campy horror, kids movies, and some romance. Someo f my favorites are The Fisher King, Queen of the Damned, The Usual Suspects, Music and Lyrics. I stream a lot of shows. I don't read books much anymore because I do so much writing and research for my work, but To Kill a Mockingbird is one of my alltime favorites. I also am a fan of John Steinbeck and Kim Harrison. I grew up reading comics and still love reading them.

Traveled to Okara, Punjab, Pakistan where I got married. I'd been to Canada, but I'd never been to any other country. We spent our honeymoon traveling most of Punjab - Sihawal, Lahore, Islamabad, Muree. We visited the ancient city ruins at Harappa, explored the Red Fort at Lahore. The Faisal mosque in Islamabad, and the mountain town of Muree. We also went to the Indian border at the Wagha gate and received special protocol. I'm also a photographer and was able to take some amazing pictures in Pakistan and a few in Instanbul, Turkey, where I had my layover.

I'm always opening to learning something new as long as it is beneficial. I'm laidback and open-minded. While my political leanings are liberal, I show respect to others despite their political beliefs. We don't have to think the same to exist together. That also goes for religion.

My love and kindness. If I'm traveling internationally, I like to find out what my host's country doesn't have that the U.S. has and bring them something as a gift. I haven't been able to travel to Australia, but I had a friend there. I sent them a box of Twinkies, and they sent me some musk-flavoried Lifesavers. I'm still not sure who got the best deal out of that one. Or I will find out what they like, and pick up something for them. I'm appreciative of hosts.
