CURRENT MISSION
ABOUT ME
First of all: My mother says I am a nice person.
Alright, I am a terrible case of a precise and punctual German. Therefore you will never have to wait for me when we're appointed! But the fun only starts when things are happening unplanned or unintended, isn't it? Frankly, always the start of the best stories. So I push myself into letting go more often. Still, I wouldn't ever say no to an opportunity (especially to discover a new city).
I finished my bachelor in history and political science recently. Beside my studies, I worked as a freelance journalist and as an assistant in the public relations department of a international humanitarian aid organisation. Therefore writing (for) and talking (to other people) are also my preferred hobbies.
I'm quite easy going, don't need much comfort and love adventures. Having nice people around me is the most important thing for me.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I registrated here when I started my studies. BUTthen I met my girlfriend and almost exclusively traveld with her the last couple of years and therefore we mostly slept in a hotstel or stayed with friends, as this was much easier for a couple to organize. That's why unfortunately I don't have much couchsurfing experience yet.
Second BUT: I like the idea of couchsurfing and I want to get in touch with local people and their stories. Hostels are fine, though I don't have to travel to another country to meet any more of my neighbors from Germany (eventough I like the most of them). I don't need a tour guide, but I don't need only(!) a place to sleep either. Shortly: I want to meet people!
And as soon, as I can call a flat my own again, you are invited to get to know my couch (or whatever it will be).
Interests
Well, maybe due to my writing profession (or the other way around), I admire literature: Hemingway, Boyle, Bukowski, Nabokov, Süskind, Remarque and many more. So I'm much more into books than music, but I like to listen to the older stuff like Ella Fitzgerald, CCR, Diango Reinhardt or Johnny Cash.
Damn, I love Johnny Cash!
What else? Photography (I can call a rather old camera from the 50s my own), the field of development cooperation and humanitarian aid (because I already have and want to work in this sector) and medical stuff like First Aid methods (as I'm am Member of the Red Cross Family).
And I like old stuff, like my bicycle (1957), my typwrite (1932), my camera (1953)and my telephon (1933).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Fly in a 80-somewhat-years old Lufthansa plane (JU 52) over Dresden.
Teach, Learn, Share
Unfortunately, I suck at cooking therefore at least I can't teach you German Haute Cuisine (if there even is one).
And my only talent I'm aware of – writing – is rather hard to teach.
But as I'm a voluntary medic in the German Red Cross chapter, I could teach proper CPR – could be even more useful than cooking sometime.
Good thing: There is a lot much more room to learn new things :)
