About Me

I'm open minded, always there for some fun and I'm gonna save the world ; )

My lifestyle is not 100% ecological, but I will tell you how I improve my ecological foodprint and in doing so I encourage everyone to follow these tiny steps:
In my living space I produce as little waste as possible
- no plastic bags for buying anything but instead using a backpack and cloth bags
- no fast food or any food in plastic bags covered in plastic bags etc. etc.

I buy a lot of ecological food and have in mind to avoid food that is known for being responsible to deforestation in equatorial regions. I only drink filtrated drinking water instead of buying it - there are tons of water bottles that have to be carried through countries buy trucks, just for us to have water, which is just eating up finite ressources and producing green house gases and not to mention that it is often in plastic bottles and locals get cut away from it because multi national companies buy the ground just to make their own profit out of it...

My electricity supplier offers me 100% renewable energies - and that is not just a nice to have gimmick from a multinational company to show that they are into sustainability, when 90% of its margin is still generated by fossil fuels and nuclear fission energy - they are trustworthy and a big part of the surplus is invested into the building of new power generating facilities (berlinerstadtwerke.de)

I even seperate biological, paper, electronic and general waste as far as possible. And it has really an impact on the environment, when your housekeeper is offering different garbage cans and additionally composting place.

When it comes to clothing I avoid the gigantic shopping centres and only buy clothing produced by the GOTS Standard (Global Organic Textile Standard). After more than 10 years a huge variety of clothing has been established! Shops/Brands like Armedangels, Advocadostore, Greenality, Bleed, Veja, Ethletic, Fairtragen, Fairticken and Heldenmarkt are just a few to be named!

What else? Riding the bike and using public transportation systems as much as possible. I support the NGO rainforest-rescue.org (= regenwald.org / salveaselva.org ) and I am for long years active in the NGO "Gesellschaft für Nachhaltigkeit e. V.", which is promoting guidelines to a sustainable economy / economics. Through that I am also listed as a Member of sustainable economists: nachhaltige-oekonomie.de/mitglieder

FYI: If I am not responding, it means that I am currently busy and don't have time to respond. Also if I am declining as a host it means that I have some doubts or just a feeling that I wouldn't feel comfortable hosting you - so don't take it too personal, not everybody fits together ;)

Plus: most of my references are actually from my previous guests, but they forgot to actually submit staying at my place. You probably also had it a few times as well ;)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The most amazing thing I've done was my exchange semester in Brazil! There in the amazon rainforest I went to amazing waterfalls and even did the "tropical tree climbing" up to 35m high with just 2 ropes hanging down from the branches :o

Plus I've done my black belt in martial arts 2015. Which means, it's not only devoting your free time to that, but also keep the body AND mind in a functioning shape to make fast but also well thought decisions ;)
Since 2016 I got the 2nd degree of black belt and currently I am working on the 3rd degree to be examined end of June in Torino/Italy
