About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Leave the world a better place than I found it, and have fun along the way

ABOUT ME

I'm a software developer specialising in VR and AR. I'm also a public speaker (including TEDx) and passionate LGBTQ+ activist, and advocate for women in STEM.

PHILOSOPHY

Life is not a dress rehearsal.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I work completely remotely, so I'm fortunate that I can travel as much as I like. Couch-surfing is a great way to do that, while also meeting wonderful new people. I enjoy both hosting and surfing (I am currently renovating my house, so I am temporarily unable to host)!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've been couch-surfing and hosting since 2013.

Interests

I have loads of hobbies - playing piano and ukulele, drawing portraits, playing video games, coding / making video games, and playing board games. I love nothing more than meeting new people and learning new things!

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: I love musicals, Disney, psychological thrillers, and movies that make me think.

Books: I only read non-fiction. I enjoy pop-science, philosophy, and books on decision-making. Two of my favourites are Thinking Fast & Slow by Daniel Kahneman, and Godel Escher Bach by Douglas Hofstadter.

Music: I love gypsy jazz / manouche, folk, and eurotrash (love the Eurovision)!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Delivered a TEDx talk to 2000 people

Teach, Learn, Share

I can draw your portrait, teach you to play ukulele (if you have one to hand - I don't always travel with mine), teach you to code, or show you how to easily make Virtual Reality / Augmented Reality experiences for free. I love learning new skills too. Sharing is caring.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can draw your portrait, teach you to play ukulele (if you have one to hand - I don't always travel with mine), teach you to code, or show you how to easily make Virtual Reality / Augmented Reality experiences for free. I love learning new skills too. Sharing is caring.
