About Me

CURRENT MISSION

"It is in vain to say human beings ought to be satisfied with tranquility: they must have action; and they will make it if the cannot find it" (Charlotte Brönte); hence, I am defining what action means to me.

ABOUT ME

I am a good listener and talker, but I feel embarrassed talking about myself in general terms... I need a conversation to do that! So, instead of writing about myself I can write about what I like to do. I love walking, reading, spending time in book shops, going to the cinema, cooking, drinking tea, chating (with a good whisky or gin tonic involved if possible), and so on. I´m trying to become vegetarian and I have fallen in love with running (but by now I am only a very very very amateur runner).

PHILOSOPHY

Just look around you!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

As I have not a house for myself in this transition period of my life, but a shared one, I am not free to offer accomodation but if someone is lost in Lisbon I will be happy to spend time discovering the city (since I have just arrived to the city!)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have no had a very wide experience, but anyway it has been vey positive. I made my PhD in Florence and I spent some time in Madrid, in archives, last years, so I had the chance to have couchsurfing experiences in Madrid and Italy. I met some CS friends of a friend of mine who is a brave couchsurfer in Madrid, I attended a CS party in Florence and I had a great CS experience in Naples some summers ago.

Interests

Literature, conversations, travels, cinema, tea, walking (in the city or in the countryside), writing, improving my capacity to see and watch around me without prejudices, unexpected things, cooking, history.

Music, Movies, and Books

How to make a proper list? I love Dreyer, Billy Wilder,John Ford, Kurosawa, Berlanga, Hitchcock, Orson Wells... but also bad movies in winter time with pop corns. I also love Nabokov, Cervantes, Paul Auster, Fernando Vallejo... I am just "discovering" the Brönte sisters and I am amazed. My music taste is completely barbarian and chaotic, and I am a complete ignorant on the art. Apart from my Baroque tastes (Bach is my God), I am absolutely pointless in my music tastes.
