About Me
Hi, if you’ve gotten this far you know my name is Tony and I’m from the United States!
To date my journey has been interesting and complicated; now I’m choosing to travel around Europe to meet new people, experience new foods and immerse myself in different
cultures. To continue my journey.
So, who am I? I’m still working on that, because I believe that you have to constantly challenge and stretch yourself to become the best possible you. I went to university for business, then switched to astrophysics and eventually ended up in horticulture. My business background has helped me start my own company and invest; astrophysics taught me to challenge, be more aware and to question things unknown to me. All though the first two brought something to my life, horticulture has impacted me the most. My lifestyle is now based on organic, natural and holistic philosophies.
My hobbies/loves include spinning poi, throwing some disc golf, an occasional video game and music (which has led me to a few festivals). My mother and friends would say a little bit of an introvert, but meeting people, talking about the world, cooking for them, having them show me their culture, seeing the world through their eyes, that is what gets me up in the morning!
I’ve seen a lot of North America – canyoneering in Utah, living on an organic farm in Hawaii, working in the cannabis industry in Colorado, snowboarding (won’t be doing that again) in Vermont, music festival in Maryland, hanging in Montreal, snorkeling in Mexico. I want to add to my adventures, learn from others taking this amazing journey and share what I’ve learned!
You can check out a short clip of me spinning fire on my instagram!!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Traveling Europe for the first time. Looking for unique places to spin fire and even more unique people to spend my time with. I never heard of this amazing app until a friend mentioned it after I decided to purchase a one way ticket to London.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: I’m a big festival goer. I like to see jam bands and electronic music live, but listen to a lot of jazz and Lo-fi throughout my every day. Really whatever gets me to move. Music plays a huge influence in my life, a topic I could go on about for hours if given the opportunity.
Movies: I’m admittedly not a movie person. I don’t like to sit still for that long and would much rather prefer to find something to do outside. I do watch quite a bit of anime because I find it easier to sit down for 20 minutes at a time instead of 2 hours.
Books: I read a little bit of everything. A lot of Buddhist and yogic text in the last few years, as well as more informative text and novels(my favorite being ‘House of leaves’ by Mark Danielweski).
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I lived on the side of Mauna Kae in Hawaii for a few months. I was living on an organic farm with no running water or electricity. Every night was spent under the stars around a fire telling stories, playing games and laughing with people from all across the globe. This was where my addiction for meeting people and experiencing new cultures really began.
Teach, Learn, Share
I love to spread my horticultural and organic/sustainable living knowledge. Teaching people to spin poi or dance with fire for their first time is one of the other things that brings me the most joy in life. I believe that sharing experiences of our journey through life is the greatest gift anybody could receive.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Healthy cooking, fire performances, investment advice and sustainable living habits as well as being a communicable friend that would love to share deep conversations and experiences.
