About Me
Hello! My name is Tony and I am a 38 year old creative spirit looking for a place to settle me feet for a bit. I am newly to Portland, having moved from North Carolina, and I have to say, I am really loving the energy in Oregon and Portland in particular.
I love learning new things about people, places, and life in general. I also really love painting and taking nature pictures. My wish is to be able to experience a part of Portland that I have not really had a chance to taste yet. Oh, and I love food! Cooking, eating, and talking about it. Food is such a huge part of human life and it's cool to be able to see and feel what other cultures and places add to that most basic of life elements.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I joined this site because I have just recently moved here from Albany for a job. Sadly, the place I am at now is not only short term, but it is also in North Portland, while my job is in SW Portland. Added to that, my job begins at 4:30am, so public transport isn't really an option from here. I am looking for a place to lay my head between shifts, and maybe even share a story or two with a fellow life traveler.
I look forward to hearing from you and hope that you always find the fit that suits you best.

Music, Movies, and Books
My music tastes are really all over the place, although I don"t really care for country too much. Movies.. That is an odd one.. Old stand-bys have to be: Star Wars, The 5th Element, Dune, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, and Watership Downs, to name a few.
Books are a whole 'nother story! I love the Wheel of Time series, the Dune series, various history books, and Jack London's books and short stories.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I can think of many amazing things that I have done.. I guess one of my all time favorites was being able to kayak on the La Jolla cove and seeing seals within feet of my boat and watching them frolic in the huge kelp bed. Yeah, that was pretty amazing!
