About Me

Ahoy!
I am an American-born Chinese, and I want to travel to anywhere I can. I study chemical/environmental engineering at the University of Texas at Austin. I am not very experienced at backpacking a country, but I hope to be in the next few years. In the summer, I usually study or work abroad, then I like travel once my semester or internship is over. I am a very easy going guy.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I like meeting new people from different backgrounds and countries. I hope to connect with new friends I meet through this (while staying at their place hehe). This is also a type of traveling I haven't experience much of, so it will be interesting to try. I am also very down to meet for hanging out or hitting the town.

Interests

I enjoy hiking, running, reading, hammocking, playing tennis, and dancing (mainly swing dancing). I also like eating (more like love), but I can also cook a bit.

Music, Movies, and Books

I don't watch many movies, but I do enjoy a variety of music. I mainly like indie, jazz, pop, and rock, but I also listen to other things that sound good. So far, I like reading books by George Orwell such as 1984, but I also read other random books.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I stayed awake for 48 hours while traveling in China.

Teach, Learn, Share

I would like to learn to speak some of the native languages (maybe some jokes), or how to cook native cuisine. I also want to learn about local customs and culture.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I might be able to share some food recipes if the markets have the ingredients. I also can teach hosts how to dance or practice English with them (maybe some jokes).

Countries I’ve Visited

China, Malaysia, Singapore, United Arab Emirates, United States, Viet Nam

Countries I’ve Lived In
