I currently work as a bartender in the town I grew up in while I figure out my post-grad school life. I'm currently in the application process for Ph.D. programs in neuroscience with an eye toward doing research on neurodegenerative diseases or psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy.

I'm an avid outdoors enthusiast, having grown up with the beauty of West Marin just a handful of miles away. I like to camp and hike, and I use these activities as the primary focal points of my photography (https://apm.space)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm traveling to New Zealand for my first solo backpacking trip and I'd like to meet new people with similar interests. I'm starting in Auckland and I have about 3 and a half weeks with no real itinerary in place beyond having booked a hostel for the first couple nights. I'm bringing a tent, sleeping bag, and hammock.
