About Me

Hey I'm Tony, I'm brand new to this site! I've lived all over Phoenix, AZ for most of my life (the other years were spent in southern California). I have a lot of great friends here but I would like to expand my horizons and explore new places.

I've had a million different jobs, right now I work from home as a writer for a law firm. It's not a bad gig, but I'm hoping I can find something more fulfilling in the future.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I decided to join this site in an effort to meet new people and explore new places. My job gives me the ability to work wherever I can find internet, and I want to take advantage of that more. It's really hard for me to meet new people working from home... I try to work at coffee shops to get out of my apartment at least. I've heard great things about Couchsurfing and I'm hoping I can gain some new experiences with this place.

Music, Movies, and Books

This is really hard...

Music: I grew up listening to punk & ska, but my tastes have drastically expanded since then to include all sorts of stuff: post-rock, indie rock, jazz, motown, underground hip hop, folk, blues, bluegrass, electronic, classical music, really anything with some kind of soul to it. If you have any albums that you'd like to suggest, send them my way.

Movies: Also really hard to say... I can say my favorite film of the year so far is Mad Max. I can talk about films for days though.

TV Shows: Rick and Morty, It's Always Sunny, Breaking Bad, Harvey Birdman, Sealab 2021, Arrested Development, The Office, Silicon Valley, Parks & Rec, 30 Rock, Brooklyn Nine Nine, the list could go on forever, really enjoy good TV

Books: I'm slowly getting back into leisure reading, it was one of my resolutions. My previous favorite was Slaughterhouse V. I also really enjoy graphic novels. If you have any suggestions throw them at me!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Well... I spent a year helping to take care of my dad before he passed away, and I helped my mom get through breast cancer treatment shortly after that. At the time it was really traumatic, but now that some time has passed I've been treating it as a unique experience.

In terms of traveling, I wrote an essay and won a contest in high school to visit Washington DC, which was a really cool experience. I haven't traveled abroad much, but I have visited places all over Arizona, San Diego, LA, the bay area, Portland, New York, New Orleans, southern Florida, and even Vancouver Canada.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm not sure what this section is about? I am always willing to teach or learn something new every day, and share what I can.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I try my best to keep clean and to be out of the way as much as possible. I'm also willing to help out with any cleaning or cooking.
