About Me
Hi there!
People call me Tony for short. I grew up in Jakarta, Indonesia but have lived in various places since pretty much highschool. Currently working and living in Tema, Ghana, handling project at a chocolate factory (well, technically cocoa but you know, chocolate is sexier).
Studied engineering and actually enjoyed it. I enjoy hiking etc, pretty much any outdoor activity. Been learning to play guitar and to code for a while. Like anyone else, I like movies and books. Mostly either funny and light fictions or non-fictions. I don't do those mystery novels haha.
I had travelled a lot more in the past and I am hoping could do more now.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Best part of travelling is to meet new people! Guess it boils down to that in the end. Sure you can travel and see all those places alone alright, but to me meeting locals are essential part of travelling. I'm hoping to host some people. Meeting people without having to travel sounds good too. Plus, not gonna lie, having a free place to crash for night is pretty sweet.
Interests
Traveling, hiking, outdoor stuff, baseball, movies, books, coding, cooking, astronomy, physics and engineering in general.
Music, Movies, and Books
Belle and Sebastian, Coldplay, White Shoes and the Couples Company, King of Convenience, Vampire Weekend, Jens Lekman
Secret Live of Walter Mitty, About Time, V for Vendetta, Into the Wild, 3 Idiots
The Martian, Thinking Fast and Slow, most of Malcolm Gladwell's, Surely You're Joking Mr Feynman, Revolution -- Russell Brand (you all should read that!), Born a Crime by Trevor Noah, The geography of bliss
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Hmm, this is a hard one. Probably it would be living in a treehouse in Laos. To get there you have to get on these zip-lines; it was how the park set up. Check it out, it's called Gibbon Experience. Highly recommended!
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you Saman! It's a traditional Acehnese dance. Also, not sure whether this will interest you but I sure can teach you physics or engineering stuff haha.
Other than that, I guess I can only share my experiences, travelling and living and various places.
Been cooking a lot too lately. So if you're into spicy food, I can teach you some Indonesian recipes ;)
What I Can Share with Hosts
Basically lodging and some food. You can use bathroom, kitchen, washing machine, wifi and what not. I don't have extra bed however, so you guys have to sleep on the living room couch.
