About Me

Hi ,
I was born in Bolivia, raised in NYC and live in Brussels w/my partner.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm kinda new in Brussels and want to find out more about it, plus I travel quite bit and it would be good to meet people during my travels. It's also always nice to have friends I can stay with if needs be. Okay I need to change this a bit since I've been "living" in Brussels for almost 5 years now and w/CSing for over a year. I still love meeting and sharing my life w/people I would never be able to otherwise. One thing that is IMPORTANT for your benefit and mine if you want to stay w/me PLEASE read my WHOLE profile including the part under "My Home"; it is hard for me to consider you otherwise if you don't, also please give me some indication that you did.

Interests

I love music, listening, playing. Art, I studied graphic design in undergraduate and architecture in graduate school. I LOVE basketball, playing watching. I also love to ride my bike to get a round. I like to play recreational sports and to swim when I can. I like hiking and recently did the Tour du Mt Blanc. . I love to talk to people about philosophical subjects. I have always been interested in sustainable living and recently joined a group called zéro déchet. I am also very interested in human rights.

Music, Movies, and Books

Right now reading: Sapiens, a brief history of humankind; I will update this as I get to it. Did finish it! Wow! what a book! I recommend it to anyone who is interested in understanding ourselves and what being a human involves.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Driving a truck into a river in Alaska comes to mind; that and crossing the border between Hungary and Austria on foot when Hungary was still a part of the soviet bloc are usually the most requested stories from my friends.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love to teach! and talk, (too much according to my partner.) While I won't be presumptuous enough to think that I will be able to teach you anything while we're together (especially in that short a time) I can certainly impart some knowledge about Spanish, English, architecture, basketball, cooking, music, design, art and traveling. I also LOVE to learn and I seriously can say I have learned something from every couchsurfer I've met, as a matter of fact I think I have learned something from just about everyone I've met, if only what it may be like to be them.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I dunno, Belgian chocolate? If time permits I can cook a tasty meal. I do have many fun experiences to recount from The US and SA. I also have a pretty good sense of humor; I'm willing to help my host w/anything I can help with; and since my mom lives in New York City a chance to reciprocate hosting there or in Brussels. Having hosted quite a lot recently I can better appreciate the work that goes into hosting and will try to help ease the burden of my hosts as much as I can by buying food and trying to minimize their laundry.

Countries I’ve Lived In

Belgium, Bolivia, Peru, United States
