About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Travel as much as possible and see all the sights

ABOUT ME

I am looking to see as much of the world as possible on a budget tighter than airport security. I am a writer of poems, prose, and (mostly) incomplete short stories, an avid reader of fiction and spiritual literature from around the world, a friendly but introspective individual who enjoys real conversations, interesting people, uninteresting people, and new places. I absolutely love animals and the outdoors.

PHILOSOPHY

Live a real life, experience as much as possible, free oneself from the concerns of physical existence, the unending quest for personal enlightenment

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Right now I am looking for adventure, an opportunity to meet new and amazing people, places to stay, things to do, ways to get around and see so many beautiful sights. In the future I hope to return the favor by sharing any couch I may have, telling of my experiences, expanding the Couchsurfing community, and generally promoting the ideals that this community is founded upon.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Been a member of Couchsurfing for a while and I must say I love this website. Every experience I've had has been wonderful and enlightening. Currently I am hosting all the guests I can in the Lake Tahoe area and building positive karma for future travels.

Music, Movies, and Books

Books - books on enlightenment, Eastern religion, modern spiritual philosophy, anything that blows my mind. Novels - Kurt Vonnegut, The Electric Kool-Aid acid test by Tom Wolfe, Ray Bradbury, anything with a strong personal voice. Movies - Rarely do I truly believe a movie is good... The Royal Tenenbaums, The Big Lebowski, No Country for Old Men, There Will Be Blood, independent movies, something that challenges the traditional mold of feature film. Music - so much. Bob Dylan, The Beatles, Neil Young, The Beach Boys, Modest Mouse, Animal Collective, this list could last forever.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Lived and worked at the Shambhala Mountain Center, a Buddhist retreat center in Colorado, camped for many days in the South Dakota Badlands, spent a "Fear and Loathing" week at Pittsburgh friend's wedding, skinny dipped in the Mississippi river countless times, taken 3 am walks alone in tiny Midwest towns

Teach, Learn, Share

Psychology, Buddhism and Zen, philosophy, a great ability to learn quickly and, in my opinion, an ability to teach well to people who have a hard time understanding certain things, computer savvy.
