About Me

I like to sleep long and go to bed at late hours. I'm not aggressive at socializing but never say no to an interesting conversation. I'm what they call "an analyzer type" of person.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I signed up many eons ago because I got to the age where people want to travel around and experience new things in life. I have surfed a bit and hosted a bit. Currently I'm not very active anymore but who knows, one day everything may change again.

Interests

My biggest passion is music. I often find myself humming a tune amongst others. I work as a live sound engineer as well, although I occasionally record and mix as well. I'm interested in different cultures (the more different from mine the more interesting it is), different ways of thinking etc. I like spontaneous plans and actions, even more if they're extreme. Also, I always enjoy a drink or two.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music - all types of music which existed before 1990, unknown library music, also experimental, underground, electronic, funk, jazz, african, rock music.

Movies - usually the best movies are low-budget movies but there are also exceptional expensive hollywood movies which can carry through original plots as good as low-budget movies tend to. For instance, I like American Beauty, Waking Life, Phone Booth, Cidade de Deus, Tarantino's movies. I also enjoy good anime like the Ghibli studio's ones. (The movie section edit is from at least 2009 or so, I'll keep it as it is lol)

Books - because I'm a very slow reader, I can't say I love books. But the ones that have influenced me the most are Remarque's Arc de Triomphe and Hesse's Siddhartha.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The most amazing thing I've done is skydiving and rafting on wild rivers.
The craziest thing I did:have you heard of those german baron's during the industrial era in 17th-19th century in the Baltics who were landlords and owned local people as slaves working for them. They had fancy manors which are carved in the style of baroque and classical. Some years ago me and my friends went nuts and ran around the building few rounds barely naked.

What have I seen? Oh, there are so many to list them all here but a few examples: the lowest point on Earth - the Dead Sea with it's surrounding deserts (the opposite - mt Everest is yet to be conquered), beautiful Norwegian fjords and the ruins of Ephesus in Turkey.

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Belgium, Canada, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Israel, Italy, Kosovo, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Russian Federation, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, Ukraine, United Kingdom, United States
