Overview
About Me
I am now 30 years old, and living in Wellington, New Zealand for 3 months to finish up my degree in science and physics education by student teaching at a local college in the Hutt valley.
My Main Philosophy:
Spreading the Cosmic Perspective. My message to people is stop bitching, fighting, and wasting time, and look up at the damn stars at night. We are part of a magnificent planet and universe, and have the opportunity to physically and cognitively explore both. My mission as a teacher is to inspire kids with this perspective of the grandeur of the world around us and our ability to understand and explore it.
Wasting time is not an option. Life is too short.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To meet new folks, have cheap places to crash when galavanting around, and to soak up local knowledge from said hosts.
When I am home, I plan on becoming a more active host. I have hosted travelers before, but they were passed on to me from other friends who couldn't host them, so I've no official feedback...
Interests
Things I love: Learning, astronomy, rock climbing, teaching, the outdoors, skiing, physics, great views, cooking, traveling, conversing, tinkering on projects in my garage, great coffee. Generally, I would call my self an explorer. Not as much on the physical traveling side, but exploring the inner workings of the world. I love learning and understanding how nature operates through science, how societies work through sociopolitical understanding, and how people work through relationships of all calibers.

Books: Sci-fi
Movies: Purposeful documentaries, thoughtful stories, and sci-fi.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Stood under a dark sky of brilliant, bright dancing and flaring auroras. Truly life changing.
Teach, Learn, Share
Anything and everything I can.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I am pretty great cook, and I can easily converse and get along with almost anyone. I am also remarkably clean and quiet, and can share stories and advice for traveling my home part of the world! That's one of the best ways to see new areas, is to find a local who emulates your interests and travel desires, and then find out what to and not to do when traveling other parts of the world.
I can also trade climbing belays!
And of course, whoever hosts me always has a place to crash if they are ever in my hometown!
