About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Raising a baby, writing a musical
ABOUT ME
I am in no particular order: a gardener, a math geek, an avid reader, an enthusiastic hiker, a sculptor, a ukulele player, a feminist. I sure do love to sing and dance and spend time in the sun, rain, or snow. I also happen to be a vegan and am passionate about cooking and baking. I've been told I think of little else besides food but that's not entirely true. In any case, my book of muffin recipes is nearly done, am currently looking for chocolate lovers to test my chocolate selections on.
In addition to food I'm very much interested in people. I'd like to go into early childhood education as these folks are my favorite kinds of folks to hang out with. I brag that my friends are ages 2 to 92 and it's True!
At this moment in my life I am pregnant and moving from Virginia to Oregon with my partner in crime, August. We're both musicians, make us bring our instruments out!
PHILOSOPHY
All life is an experiment.
--Emerson
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I've surfed in more than 12 countries and hosted in my po-dunk town in Virginia.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've stayed with some awesome people who I now consider friends and had an absolute blast in my travels. I've yet to meet a person for whom I would leave negative feedback.
Interests
Hiking, mountains, wind and rain, bluegrass music, biographies, healthy eating, nature, people watching, fresh food, music theatre, live music, tattoos, all things ukulele, thrifting for overalls, coveralls, and alls of all kinds! Also 24 hour diners, old books that have 'old book' smell, diy everything, history, gardening, feminism, and hanging out with small children who are frequently cooler than most of adults.

Music, Movies, and Books
I love all three, but especially black and white cheesy romantic movies with sassy dialogue, music I can slap my thigh to, and books I read slower towards the end so as to savor them.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I witnessed my little brother being born.
I grew up in a cabin in the woods in Virginia.
I hiked to Necklace Valley and skinny dipped across Lake Ilswoot during the sunset.
I took a carpentry class in Vermont and built a bad ass little shed.
I hitch hiked across Europe, Scandinavia, and the UK.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm fluent in German. I know four really great kids jokes. I can cook. I'm excellent with faces and can often pick a persons' celebrity dopplegangers.. I'm also very knowledgeable about frivolous things such as where to buy the coolest socks!
