About Me

I am easy going and carefree. I was born and raised in eastern Arkansas. I have degrees in agriculture and I am currently pursuing a degree at LSU. I hope to work in international agriculture; ideally in Africa, Philippines or Mexico. I became interested in traveling the world after taking a trip to the Netherlands.

"The world is a book and those who do not travel read only one page." - St. Augustine

"The limits of my language mean the limits of my word." - Ludwing Wittgenstein

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I was introduced to couchsurfing through my friend Josue. I have participated in events in the Fayetteville, AR area. I am on couchsurfing to meet people and to not do all the touristy things when I visit other countries.

"I haven’t been everywhere, but it’s on my list.” - Susan Sontag

Interests

I am interested in learning languages and experiencing as many different cultures as I possibly can. I love Spanish and the latino culture. I hope to take my Spanish skills and use them in my future career.

Music, Movies, and Books

I enjoy most types of music: The Killers, Foo Fighters, Hozier, Chet Faker, Fitz & the Tantrums, Johnnyswim, The Lumineers, Moon Taxi, Of Monsters and Men, Silversun Pickups, Langhorne Slim & The Law, Thirty Seconds to Mars, Twenty One Pilots

I enjoy all movies. I am oddly obsessed with any movie that has Jared Leto, Keanu Reeves or Will Smith.

I normally read Non-Fiction books about historical figures from around the world. Living in Colombia has inspired me to read more books from Latin American authors such as Gabriel Garcia Marquez and Paulo Coelho.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I don't know if you would consider it amazing but after defending my M.S. thesis, I decided that I needed to travel before beginning my PhD. I defended on a Tuesday and flew to Colombia 4 days later.

Teach, Learn, Share

Coming from an agriculture background I guess I would say my 'expertise' is in agriculture practices. I am from the southern part of the U.S. but I want to learn as much as I can about other countries. I love to meet new people and learn how they came to be the person that they are.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I haven't been a lot of places but I have a lot of good stories. I have been told I am funny but I guess that is for you to decide. I wouldn't call myself the 'typical' American and I am always up for anything new.

Countries I’ve Visited

Colombia, Netherlands, United Kingdom

Countries I’ve Lived In
