Hey! I'm Toprak, 21 years old, from Istanbul, Turkey. I study Literature and Languages, and I'm really happy about it. I love learning about new cultures and places. I really want to practice the languages I'm learning and I think I'm an open and talkative person, so its easy to communicate with me. Oh, and we can communicate via Italian, Spanish, English and Turkish.

Also, I play in a punk/skate punk band, and in a ska band. In the punk band I sing and play the guitar, in the ska band I do the backing vocals, play the trumpet and play the keyboard. I can show you some of our originals, most of them are in Turkish but I think you can enjoy them, i believe that music has no language barrier. :D Oh and also I'd really like to jam if you play anything.

Skateboarding! I really love it, I stopped skating when I was 16 because I broke many of my bones, but I started to skate again last year. I guess, I usually have my board with me when I'm traveling, so if you skate too, when can hang out.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Two reasons: I want to meet new people and native speakers, and I don't have much money. But meeting with new people is the main reason I guess. I don't like to be a tourist in the city, I want to learn the depths of the city, the slang, etc. And you can't just learn about them in hotels and sightseeings, I really want to listen to some experiences and I really want to share mine.

Interests

- I like reggae, ska, punk, progressive rock and jazz. I play the piano, trumpet, guitar, bass and I sing. I play jazz and rock'n'roll on piano, also I'm into late-classic stuff. I play ska and reggae on trumpet, and I'm also learning jazz. On guitar, I'm more into punk, hardcore, progressive rock stuff. On bass, I play ska, reggae, progressive rock and funk.

- Languages! As I said, I study Languages and Literature, I really like Romance Languages. I speak Italian, English and Turkish and I'm learning Greek and Spanish.

- I love skateboarding!!
