Why I’m on Couchsurfing

The more people I meet, the better my music! Dramatic music is all about recreating an emotional experience and the more experiences I have, the more authentic my music. I can also learn about experiences and cultures through people I encounter.

I'm on Couchsurfing to grow as an individual and composer and to share in mutual experiences with others. You find out a lot about yourself when you meet other people!

Interests

The outdoors, I love hiking, being in nature, playing sports, tennis, skiing, wakeboarding, basketball.

I love being competitive, from ping-pong to chess, I could play all day!

I love learning about the world, either through travel, reading, or documentaries. There's always more to learn.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: You'd think as a composer, I'd listen to a lot of music! But I don't since it's my job! I mainly stick with classical and soundtracks, but I'm always looking for new sources of inspiration. Of these genres, I like John Powell, James Newton Howard, Hans Zimmer, John Williams, Ravel, Adams and Shostakovich to name a few.

Movies: Minority Report, King Kong, How to Train Your Dragon, A Knight's Tale, Finding Nemo, Up, The Manchurian Candidate, The Imposter, Dear Zachary, The House I live In, LOTR, The Act of Killing, The Sand Lot, Toy Story, Saving Private Ryan, Skyfall, Perks of Being a Wallflower, Memento, Gravity, Boyhood, The Diving Bell and the Butterfly, In a Better World, Inception, The Dark Knight.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Snorkeling on Roatan, a small island off Honduras. Some of the best tropical fish and coral in the world! Top it off with Rudy's Smoothies on the other side of the island for a perfect day after a week of dental clinics.

I love teaching music. It's such a diverse subject and everyone has different tastes and perspectives. I love collaborating with other musicians.
