About Me

I play quiet songs loudly on the banjo, although only travel with a jaw harp... because also, I'm clumsy. Although I don't let that stop me! I give it my all and so far haven't died. I like being outside and going fast down hills and breathing cold air and subjecting myself to bitter tastes. I produce a lot of heat. I like learning new things. I like dirt and dirt likes me. I'm passionate about my work and have a focus on change through connection. I love people and am inspired by the natural world around me. I am fulfilled by experiences that satisfy my curiosity and growth.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have the opportunity to go out into the big wide world and work remotely, so I am! I've had the best experiences couchsurfing and love seeing the world through the lens of the local. ALSO how amazing is it to have friends on your adventures? very amazing.

Interests

I love trying out different ferments and homesteading and bush skills in general. Science is good, science is great; but also am a little bit habitually witchy. I think contrapoints is the funniest and smartest person on the internet.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've tattooed my initials on someone, run away with the circus, hidden out of the rain to sleep in the straw with a pack of dogs, started a farm and fallen in love at first sight. not all at once though.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love soil! It's beautiful and unifying and a focus for purpose for me right now. I would love more than anything to learn about other countries' soils and how others are promoting soil health and would be so excited to share the strategies used in Ontario. Also I think I have a knack for nosing out good vegetable combinations for ferments. I could teach you some beginner acro movements, how to play the jaw harp, yodel or make fruit leather.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I've got a green thumb! And can generally be enthusiastic about anything.
