About Me

CURRENT MISSION

see the world, meet new people, strip on new stages!

ABOUT ME

I'm a gay/queer artist with 4 freelance jobs. I tried to simplify for a while but the lifestyle keeps calling back. I deliver things on my bike, I'm a photographer and a burlesque performer in BoylesqueTO, Canada's premier all-male burlesque troupe.

I live in a hard loft which I use as a work space around 1 or 2 times a week for photoshoots and burlesque rehearsals.

Other than that craziness, I'm actually quite quiet and boring and am far more likely to stay in and smoke up than go out at night, owing to the fact that I essentially have 4 jobs. However, if I have time off I can usually be persuaded out for a bike ride, dancing or a show -- if you're into burlesque there's a huge scene in this city. I'm allergic to alcohol so I'm not the best bar-friend but I'll go out with you and have a soft drink or some awesome greasy foodstuff. I do however spend a lot of time smoking pot.

PHILOSOPHY

I am slowly learning to reconcile this sort of 'alternative lifestyle' path that my life has taken, which is something I always idealized/romanticized in my early youth but never thought was something I would be able to do for real.

My goal is to push my personal boundaries out as far as I can to see where I end up.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm new to couchsurfing as a surfer but I am a seasoned host, excited to meet new people from all over!

Don't be afraid to request me! But please read all of the information on the space first because it is very particular.

I almost always respond within 24 hours unless I have to sort out the possibility of doublebooking first, in which it may take a few days to get back to you.

*** Also, I don't only host fellow queers but I do try extra hard to accommodate where possible, because I know how challenging it can be to find safe queer-friendly spaces. Please self-identify! ***

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I couchsurfed for a month in Toronto with friends whilst I was homeless and looking for a place of my own. I rotated house to house every 3 or 4 days, which was pretty wild.

I opened my doors for a one-year couchsurfing project where I basically just said YES to everyone who requested me if I was available. I hosted 44 people from 16 different countries, amounting to 120 days of houseguests. It was a life-changing experience and I thank everyone who was there with me while I did it!

I spent a total of 4 months spread out over a year couchsurfing in various cities in the United States and it was pure magic every single day.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Reaching the top of Mt.Fuji in Japan was delightful and I'd love to give Kilimanjaro a go soon.

Stripping / dancing / being generally unclothed in public spaces as well as ritzy venues is always a brand new adventue and has led me to a lot of great new friends, places and experiences.

I organized my own burlesque tour of the UK where I appeared in 7 different cities over 11 days. It was exhausting and amazing.

I watched the midnight sun in Iceland from a hotspring (also, seeing the northern lights and Jokulsarlon there was pretty mindblowing).
