Hey Guys and Girls,

I'm Torsten or short Torte (cake) from Neuss in Germany. Currently i am working in Neuss for the CIty council as a Social worker.
I grew up in a small village near Stuttgart where I spend most of my youth until I wanted to see the big world. After leaving my home I lived in a car in Australia, a tent in New Zealand, a big "student-tower" in Aachen, a nice semi detached house outside Münster, and an even nicer flat right by the city center.
I've done some traveling along the way, was in Singapore, Australia (pretty much everywhere exept Darwin and the west coast), New Zealand, England, Scotland, Belgium, France, Italy, Spain, Austria, Switzerland and a couple more places.
At the moment I am trying to improve my french, so I can broaden my horizon and finish, what I started in 7th Grade about 15 years ago.

To explore a new way of travelling, to get to know new and exiting people around the world. Also I want to lern mor about the culture and the way of living in other places and get a bit off the usual tourist routes.
As well as to give people the chance to stay at my place and get to know the beutiful rhine area around Cologne and Düsseldorf.

兴趣

I try to get outside often, to explore new areas, get to know my surroundings, or just to breathe some fresh air. I find exitement in seeiing new stuff or doing new things.
As my job evolves around a lot of office work I try to be active in my freetime, using my bike for most of my daily tasks doing excersise or going for a swim.

During weekends I travel around my area, like to visit friends or family in my country or just relax with a good book or a nice movie. I am into cooking as well, I try to live a healty and balanced dietand even prefer a good home cooked meal to a lot of restaurants.

If you are interested in football like me, there is lots of opportunity around here, from the Müngersberg Stadium in Cologne, Leverkusen, Düsseldorf, Mönchengladbach to the yellow wall in Dortmund. I myself prefer the Clubs from my home country Baden Württemberg, which would be Freiburg in the 1st Division and my favourite club the VfB Stuttgart which is currently playing in the second division.

I prefer rock/Indie music from Iron Maiden, Led Zeppelin, the Clash or Franz Ferdinand, Kasabian or Arctic Monkeys, ... there are too much bands to name right now. Hip Hop can be very nice as well, bt my taste there is a lot more specific, German Artists like Alligatoah, KIZ or some American classics like NWA, Dr. Dre or Eminem can be very good. But some others are not to my taste. Generally I like all music, thats "good", this can include nice melody, a funny text or a nice rhythm.

I used to read a lot of thrillers, from Steven King to Lee Child, at the moment I'm reading the Song of Ice and Fire, other historic Novels like Ken Follet have been on my reading list as well. But lately I`ve also found more interest in classical literature like Kafka, Harper Lee or Anne Frank.

Haven`t watched a lot of movies lately generally I like movies from Quentin Tarrantino, Christopher Noland and movies you can think about like Shawshank Redemption or other ones which leave you with more questions then answers.

People giving a hand in strange, unusual Situations.
Some of my neighbours belped me to "break" into my own flat, after I forgot the keys inside.
After an accident in Australian Outback we got help from inhabitants of a near town, which totally saved us.
Tramping all around New Zealand through the South Island to Cape Reigna and Auckland just with a tent and backpack.
