À propos de moi
CURRENT MISSION
Attend a friend's wedding in Denver July 19th. The wedding itself is being held at Holy Ghost Catholic Church at 1900 California St and the reception at the downtown Sheraton. If there's a guitar available, I wouldn't mind finding an open mic on Sunday.
ABOUT ME
I'm retired (read alternatively: moderately self-employed) and live in the woods. Every day I wake up, do some calisthenics so my ligaments don't disintegrate under the pressure of my twisted scoliactic skeleton, then I play guitar/sing/work on writing songs for a long as I damn well please. After that I'll sit down and do some coding with Max for Live. My main pursuit in this avenue is a pattern recognition algorithm which runs as you play and is able to discern when you're in a steady rhythm, capture individual iterations of identified patterns and start looping them, playing whatever instrument(s) you designate. So it is essentially an AI you can jam/write songs with. After working on it, I'll play some music with it, to help it (and myself) become more skilled. Then I'll usually watch some anime or read, before crawling into my cotton nest to become unconscious. That and at least a couple open mics a week: all in all I'd say it's a pretty satisfying routine, but now I'm starting to look forward to doing some traveling...
PHILOSOPHY
I am philosophically opposed to vacations. I don't intend to live a life that needs escaping from. That being said, I plan on spending most of the rest of mine traveling.

Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue
Hmmm, well when I first moved to Washington there were lots a purdy things outside my car windows. And one time I bore witness to the song White Winter Hymnal sung in spontaneous duet in a Burger King drive thru. Another time in a 6th floor apartment overlooking Lake Mendota the entire building began swaying back and forth and a hexagonal grid of sensation spread throughout my body to incorporate the surrounding walls as the floor fell out beneath me and left me staring from the edge of my mattress at the carpet which seemed to be so far below that I could barely make it out through the haze of all that empty space. That was after smoking salvia with some friends (hey, it was still legal back then; eat it narcs.) Oh and one time i sawr a blimp.

I enjoy talking about music and technology. If you know about such things, I bet we could learn from each other. Especially if you have experience with Max/MSP or sound design in general. Even better than technical things is a willingness to play some music. I'm always glad to jam with anyone at all, regardless of skill level, and collaboration in terms of writing songs is something I'm even more enthusiastic about.
