About Me

Hey you!
It seems you have just found my profile. Yay!
My name is Fábián. Unluckily I have thousands of variations for nicknames, but before our first meeting let's agree on Fábián (which actually means bean-grower).

*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*
2024:
21ST JANUARY - 6TH FEBRUARY - INDIA
See you there!
*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*

I live, study and work in Budapest since I was born.
Currently working as a teacher in Siófok (on the shore of Lake Balaton) and also entertaining people during the nights as a tourguide/storyteller in a Victorian-era dress in Budapest.

Anyway, I'm just a regular guy who loves to laugh, to discover, to improvise and I like to entertain people.

I try to travel to those countries which are on my bucket list.

Sometimes I am just inspired of someone and delve into something new. For example I have a video channel on Youtube. No, my aim is not to reach millions of subscribers. It's just a whimsical hobby. Check it out, maybe it helps to know me before we meet (look for those videos, which have english subtitle - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCcflLtt8vnW2TkFjLeWzdJA)
But once it can happen, that one of my CS guest will appear in one of the video.

I used to host a bi-weekly radio show about science and technology, and dubbed some cartoons. Oh, did I mention that I am the voice of the Decathlon sportswear markets' call-center?

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

It's been some years since I joined to Couchsurfing. Wonderful people are here. I know everyone of us needs a help while traveling, even if it's about tight travel-budget or ideas or inspiration.
To be honest, it's really pleasing that most of us offer our flats/couches to a friendly stranger. It's so great to tell my colleagues, friends etc. that Couchsurfing is not only great for save money on traveling (it's not the real benefit!), but to meet thankful and reliable travelers. Everyone just stares at me, that "Do you meet strangers this way?! Are you out of your mind?!" And I reply: Hell yeah! - just to confuse everyone, who have doubts and fears about CS.
It's working, it's rewarding. :)

Interests

Countries, cities, sightseeing, explores, challenges, discovers, what else?

Well, preferably I visit less touristic places. (see the list below).
So even if you live miles and miles from the nearest dusty village, in the middle of nothing, I won't complain. These places become the middle of the world for me. You and your stories will matter!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Traveled totally alone in the wild Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Cape Verde and Ukraine. Many-many unforgettable memories. :)

Teach, Learn, Share

What would I learn? Maybe how to find secret places which You like.

I would definitely tell some stories about the hungarian legends, vampires and boogeymans. And also my speech for my first stand-up comedy show is under planning. Maybe we could inspire each other.

Albania, Austria, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Cabo Verde, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Finland, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Italy, Kazakhstan, Kosovo, Kyrgyzstan, Luxembourg, Macedonia, Moldova, Mongolia, Netherlands, Poland, Romania, Russian Federation, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Sweden, Ukraine, United Kingdom, Wales
