Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm here because I don't want to look at cities from the point of view of hotel and restaurants on the main square. I'm looking for another kind of immersion, hidden places, in a friendly company of a knowledgeable guide. I'm interested in the first place to understand the life of the city. How it breathes, how it's seen by those who live in it.
Programming, photography, snowboard, machine learning, startups, board games.

Interests

I like to create something new, to try to change the world, but so far I have no great success in that. So I'm a programmer. In photography, I find confirmations that I still exist. As for snowboarding, I decided to learn to ride in winter 2016-2017, as far as I'm a novice. And machine learning: it's just interesting, allows you to create amazing things.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: I love rock'n'roll, indierock, jazz. The first three performers that come to mind: Franz Ferdinand, The White Stripes, Johnny Cash.
Books: lately, I have little time for reading fiction. But I like classic dystopias, like 1984 or Zamyatin's "We".
Movies: no clear favorite, but I liked The Grand Budapest Hotel, God Bless America, Scott Pilgrim vs. the World.
